For my first ever LD I have made a volleyball game with shapeshifting robots. Recommended to play against another human, I have implemented an AI, but its not very difficult to beat, it's probably more fun to control both of them.

Gameplay:
The rules are simple, you score a point when the ball hits your opponents floor, or if the ball spends more than 10 seconds on its half of the room. First one to 10 points win.
While on the ground you can create a shield that extends your horizontal reach, useful if you have to catch a ball that is very low. Blocking extends your vertical reach, useful if you want to prevent your opponent from smashing the ball down on your area. While blocking you can send a force pulse forward. It has very short reach, but adds a lot of speed to the ball, useful if you wanna smash the ball.
Controls:
Right player uses arrowkeys, up to jump and down to use shield. Right shift to block and right ctrl to use force pulse.
Left player uses WASD, W to jump and S to use shield. Left shift to block and space bar to use force pulse.
Only keyboard works for now, I might add support for more controls in a post-jam version. The game works best with 16:9 aspect ratio. With other ratios I would reccomend to adjust the camera position, you can zoom in and out with the mousewheel, and you can move it up/down with the mouse while holding the right mouse button. To pause the game and go to the main menu you can press ESC, or Enter in the WebGL version.
The WebGL and windows versions are very similar, but the windows version has better graphics, so I would recommend it.
The game is made with unity 5.3, sound effects and music made with sfxr and LMMS.
Changes after deadline: -Made the camera adjustable so its playable on lower aspect ratios. -You can now press enter instead of ESC in the webGL version.
If you play in the browers pressing ESC will leave fullscreen, I did not think of that when assigning buttons, but just pressing ESC again should take you back to the main menu.
I did run out of time making the UI for this, which shows, and I would have wanted a bit more interesting enviroment as well.
The controls will take some time to master, largely because they are controlled by the physics, but those who played the classic "blob volley" a lot might pick it up faster.
Very nice! The music is super catchy! Not entirely sure what space was supposed to do, but didn't seem to do much of anything for me, but enjoyed it all the same. Would love to try this with controllers.
While you are blocking(Left shift for left player) you can press space to shoot a force field forward. It doesnt last long, but its useful for smashing the ball when its right in front of you.
Frankly when I saw the game for the first time, I was not expecting that it can be so funny and challenging at the same time. Also theme of shapeshifting was nicely interpreted by game mechanics, cool!
The control scheme for two players on the same keyboard seems to be...not well-suited for WebGL, to put it lightly. Ctrl+W, Ctrl+D, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+Shift+W are all key combinations I really DON'T want to be hit...xP
Think you misunderstood controls DDRkirby, with WASD you use left shift and space, which can be done with your left hand alone. Only with the arrow keys do you use Right Shift and Right Control, which has to be done with two hands.
it was fun, played against the CPU, AI was random: sometimes it just sat there till the time expired, or didnt even attempt to return the ball, some other times it played like a pro.
ESC didn't work for me...
