Roby Robot
This game is from the old Ludum Dare platform. You can try viewing the original page on Web Archive

IMPORTANT:
If your movement seems to be stuck, you probably clicked outside of the window while moving. Just click on the game window and press the corresponding movement key once to stop it.
I also recommend to use the downloads instead of the web version, because it has some problems with the sound.

This is my first Ludum Dare game and my first finished game at all. It is a small point and click adventure where you control Roby the steam-robot. Moving ist done by WASD and Space, interacting with the mouse: left-click for picking items or interact with stuff, right-click for inspection (most of the time).
The game is made with Godot Engine 2.1, asesprite, Krita and bfxr. I also used a (public domain) font from http://www.fontspace.com/lcd-solid/lcd-solid.
So the graphics are OK, I think. Since I'm not an artist, I did a good job in creating those items and things (which was surprisingly much work). The code is a mess. Don't look at it.
There is a bug that the text window is above the grass. I couldn't fix it in time. It is rarely noticable, though. Also due to the lack of time (and being exhausted) there is sadly no music. But there is sound. Talking of that, Godot Engine has some problems with playing samples (huge delay between issuing the play command and the sound being played). I tried to improve that by reducing the latency, but that can cause problems (it doesnt for me, but who knows what other computers do). If it is weird and annoying, or you just dont like it, you can mute the sound with the small button besides the inventory.
The Mac and Linux builds are not tested by me. I don't know if they will work.
One last word: Since english isn't my native language, there may be some weird sentences in the dialogues. I really hadn't the time to read through all of that again.
So have fun, and please leave a comment!
