Abducted
You've just woken up.
Where are you?
Someone must have abducted you.
Everything is quiet.
You should try to get out while they're away...
=========================================================
This is our third Ludum Dare, again using our own custom graphics engine. This time with (and actually using!) bone animations. We even preloaded all the fixes for weird graphics hardware and should be ready to run on OpenGL 3.2. No more excuses, come play our game!
=========================================================
Controls:
W/A/S/D -- move
E or F -- pickup/drop/interact
space -- jump
mouse -- look
left mouse -- pickup/throw
=== After first feedback, here's some clarifications: ===
- You need to find a key to open the door
- Only objects with names can be picked up.
- All objects deal damage, not just the sawblades
- You can only pick up objects when you're near them, i.e. when the name shows in white (not grey)
=========================================================
Code: Benedikt Walser, Kim Werner
Some models are grabbed from the web, as are some textures.
=========================================================
Changelog:
- posted to Jam
- cleared things up
- use left mouse to pick up, too
- linux build is up!
- added short playthrough video on youtube
- added windowed option

Whilst it's impressive I cant really say it was too fun. I spent most of the time trying to pick up objects that I couldn't that look the same as objects I could. Avoiding the zombies became more of a chore than anything.
IT sticks to the theme well and the movement felt good though, overall I'd give it a 3/5, another day or so to polish out some of the issue and it's an easy 4 :D
Good Job!
It took me a while to find out that the dark corridor led to another room because it's impossible to see.
I was surprised (in a good way) by the zombies when they first showed up. But when they started flooding the room it was impossible to get a breather to try and figure out how to escape the room.
At first I thought the sawblades were the only things that could kill them, but it turns out any object can kill them (even the cups!). It's too difficult though because some zombies take two hits and there are so few objects in the room to throw (more than the number of zombies even!) and picking up a new object every time takes too long.
The controls are awful. I'm not sure why E was pick up and left click was throw when they could have been the same button.
Nailed the mood and theme though.
The Mood was good, but I feel there are a bit too many zombies.
The game itself still looking for the escape.
Really very good job
Also I believe those "zombies" are direct rips of the ghouls from fallout 3/NV, you should probably opt out of the graphics catagory in that case.
Great job with game and engine!
The zombies were to the end to many for me. Or the room was too small for these number of enemies.
As I picked up the big box in the middle of the room I fought I can hide me in it because the camera clipped trough. xD Would be a nice feature to hide yourself for the zombies until you are out of their view.
It was scarier than I thought
Congratulations for using your own engine.
Keep the great work!
