Blind Man's Room
As a blind man in prison, freedom is in the mind. Find the key. Escape yourself.
This was an odd one. My first jam (LD or otherwise) going solo, I really wanted to practice some pixel art and go for a moody/theme-driven style game.
You explore the room while trying to conserve your energy and maintaining your sanity as every day all the objects in the room change. Search them and try to find the key to win the game.
Wished I had time to actually show the skill checks when they are performed (under the hood) so the player can see the process. For example lockpicking treasure chests (a Lockpicking skill check) to find a weapon, Writing a Poem (a Brains check) to get more energy. That might have helped the gameplay, maybe? What do you all think?
Made the BIG mistake of leaving the funny/weird/story moments for last, it was clear in my head but not in the design. Had to rush it with the items and dialogue. Please give feedback if you can, I really want to get better at this! :)

Energy goes down when you walk or attack. Sleep often.

It seems to be an interesting gameplay, but it kind of confused me as well. But good job nonetheless!

Like you said yourself, seeing the stats and skill checks would have been nice. It wasn't immediately clear to me, but the player is actually blind? That's why things pop up out of the blue? Not sure what the enemies were, if I am locked in a room.
That said, the art is pretty nice (though with room for improvement), and exploring for items (i.e. stats increases, etc) was rewarding.
