This is my first Ludum Dare entry. It is very crude and buggy but I hope to improve it in the future.

Decorate your own room with 5 unique items and earn rewards by working your way through 4 uninteresting challenges! (I know it's not a lot. :-P)

Thanks to the awesomeness of Haxe+OpenFL, this game works just about anywhere: on your PC, in your web browser, and on your Android phone or tablet.

Version 1.0.0 is the one submitted to Ludum Dare. All downloads and links below point to version 1.0.0. If I advance the project in the future the source will be available at https://github.com/Jonathan50/room-designer.

== Notes about Android ==

* Before trying to install the app, please make sure that installing apps from "unknown sources" is enabled on your device: http://i.cubeupload.com/hWAcxZ.png

* Downloading the APK file and opening it will start the installation procedure.

* To see the price of an item, tap on it but don't drag it. Tap on something else to hide the price.

== Known bugs ==

* Don't place items inside the hitbox of another item. Otherwise bad stuff will happen.

* Resizing the window while playing will not work well. Instead please resize while in the main menu.

* No audio! (Technically this isn't a bug but oh well.)

== Software used ==

* Haxe, a programming language based of ActionScript

* OpenFL, a graphics library based of Flash

* Emacs, a development environment

* GIMP, the free software image editor

I had some issues placing the tiles, I couldn't get past it. Cool game though

Thanks! Sorry about the issues, I think that was because of the bug that prevents placing items in the hit box of other items. I just don't put them right next to each other (even though it looks terrible that way)

Interesting idea. Snapping tiles together would make that system a bit neater to use, maybe a snapping grid in general.

Interesting concept but some bugs with the tiles made it impossible for me to progress far into it. Congratulations on actually finishing something for your first Ludum Dare though, I hope you return next time.

Ran into some bugs with being items disappearing from the store and glitched placement. Also would recommend having the name of the item pop up along with the price, wasn't sure which the tiles were.

But welcome to Ludum Dare! it's a ton of fun and I still fondly remember by first.

This game is not particularly fun to play due to the amount of glitches. :(

However, I will say congrats on making a good UI - that's something that a lot of first-timers don't do. :)

I hope you had fun with your first LD and will participate again! :)

An interesting idea, something I could see as maybe a game for small children. You could have some intelligence as to how it checks challenge completion, so rather than just amount bought eg tiles should be contiguous at bottom, cushion goes on chair etc.
