~~~~ UPDATE LOG (SHORT VERSION) ~~~~
UPDATE 3: Add MacOS and source link (both based on the bugfix entry) and add youtube link to intro creation
UPDATE 2: Add the WebGL version (minor tweaks made for graphics, gameplay was unchanged)
UPDATE 1: Bugfix - Some items would fall through the ground.
~~~~ THE GAME ~~~~
An accident forces a spaceship to make planetfall on a nearby planet while losing all components. As the emergency repair robot you are tasked with collecting all the components, including the "one room" in which the crew is hibernating, before the spaceship runs out of energy.
~~~~ THE GAMEPLAY ~~~~
"Where is the room" is a game in which you search for items and bring them back before there is no more energy.
Grab and drag power ups and components back to the ship and shoot the creatures for energy.
- Drag the 6 components in the level and bring them back to fix the spaceship (and win the game). Each component reduces the energy drain.
- Shoot creatures and let the "mules" (automated robots) drag energy back to ship
- Shoot pandicorns and drag them back to decrease the energy consumption.
- Don't worry about the small robot running out of energy, it can recharge at the spaceship.
- You win when you have all 6 components and you lose when there is no more energy.
~~~~ THE CONTROLS ~~~~
- Movement: WASD or the arrows keys
- Grab/Release: "E" or "0 - numpad"
- Shooting: Aim with the mouse and shoot with the left mouse button
- Boost: Left or right shift (requires you to *unlock* the boost first)
~~~~ TIPS ~~~~
- At the start the boost power up is right in front of you. Grab it (using "E") and drag it to the entrance of the spaceship. Release it in front of the spaceship to unlock the boost (which increase your movement using "SHIFT")
- When it moves, shoot it. Mules (automated workers) will collect the energy for you.
- Use the radar. Purple blips are power ups or collectables that you need to drag back.
- Behind the spaceship there is another power up which gives you a bigger energy bar (so you can move further).
- The next purple blip you see on the radar is an extra mule which increases the energy collection.
- Red blips on the things you can kill and spawn energy that the mules collect.
- Shoot pandicorns (they look like pandas) and drag them back to reduce the energy drain on your ship.
- Don't worry about losing energy. When it happens a mule will pick you up and bring you back to base.
~~~~ ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION ~~~~
Where is the room is a game about a robot that needs to rescue the people in the hibernation room and repair the broken parts of his ship. He must set out on a hostile world and return the missing pieces of the ship before the energy of the ship runs out.
The game contains a quick overview of the gameplay, but here is a quick summary as well as some elements that where added after the manual.
Use 'WASD' or the arrow keys to move the robot and when you are near a power up press 'E' or '0 - numpad' to grab it. The nearest power up (which is right in front of you after starting the game) unlocks the boost when you deliver it to your spaceship. You can shoot by pointing at the enemies and left clicking.
Energy starts draining from your ship as soon as you get control of your robot. You can gather energy by killing the local, harmless (somewhat) wildlife and you can upgrade your robot (and gain more mules) by collecting power ups and returning them to the entry point of the ship.
Mules are the ships floating above the main ship. They will carry the energy dropped by enemies back to the ship automatically. This will prolong you time. By collecting Pandicorns, and the 6 primary components you will lessen or eliminate the energy drain on the ship, for some time.
The goal of the game is to collect all 6 main pieces of the sip. You lose when your main ship runs out of energy.
