Yay! Another gameboy ROM! Cool that you got a game loop, with scrolling on the gameboy, with some music at the start. I ended up using GBDK for my gameboy game and that's cool that you were able to implement some A.I. in there also, cool!
I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I ran into the opponent while firing, and perhaps I think during a jump and he managed to disappear and my weapon got unequipped. Also, I managed to teleport up through the bottom of the map as well, I think after hitting my head on the ceiling, but otherwise it looks like a pretty nice start to something good.
My only complaint otherwise would be a lack of any sort of health indicator, if not for enemies then at least for players themselves. Had a few deaths as a result of simply not knowing how many hits I could actually take.
@superbusyrobot The issues you experienced are actually down to the emulator you was using, this is common in emulators such as Visualboy Advance due to them having pretty bad/inaccurate emulation. I would recommend running it on BGB if you haven't got the hardware to test it on as thats the most accurate emulator to-date and it runs fine :)
