Navigate the maze and get the electric charges onto the conveyor belts before the time runs out to stop this circuit from running out of power!
----- Hello, and thanks for reading. This is my first typescript/HTML5 game ever and this shows in the final spaghetti 543 line source file, but hey, I learnt loads. There is no graphics or audio, but that is not what I set out to achieve - I set out to experiment with game dev for the web (something I've never done before) and in this sense I learnt loads and will probably do a post mortem at some point.
- The grey bar is the conveyor belt - pick charges up and place them onto the conveyor to send them away. - You are the purple square, and the yellow ones are the charges. - The yellow bar at the side is the power - don't let this reach the top.
----- Controls ----- W/S/A/D to move Space to pickup charges and put them down again
----- Tips ----- - Try to release the movement keys before pressing another one - i.e don't simultaneously hold down any of the WSAD keys ----- Known issues ----- - Movement can be a bit sticky, - Collision isn't perfect - Power bar intrudes on maze at times. - Firefox (Just use chrome if you can)
Thanks for reading, and please play and post your highest level underneath!
I like the idea you have going here. Unfortunately, the controls are a bit unforgiving. Smoother movement would make this significantly easier to play. Overall, very nice job.
This was certainly something. I tried to play the game in Firefox, but for some reason the game would not respond to my spacebar so I couldn't actually move the charges. In Chrome I was able to play. I did find it a bit odd that even a pixel overlap between the charge and the conveyor can carry a charge away. Also, there were a few times where I somehow managed to drop a charge outside the screen and had to go fishing in the dark to get it back. The worst issue, however, was the sticky, stuttering, inexact controls. On the 12th level, I got completely stuck. I could move around in an inverted L shape, but I could not get out of that path to go deposit the charges. I will give you due credit for an interesting idea and functional procedural generation, but the implementation leaves something to be desired.
