Game Jam Stuff

Hello! This is my 4th game jam; I started doing them last year with LDJam37. I wanted to try out doing much lower res pixel art than I'm used to (16x16 instead of 64x64) this time around, and doing pixel art from top-down instead of the NSEW type of style I usually do. It was actually a lot harder than I thought! I also spent some more time than usual with getting the gameplay relatively polished. :)

My take on the theme was basically a mix between a corgi conga line through the snow and getting piled on by a bunch of dogs because you have food. Thus we have this little game.

Everything was created during the jam, except for the music/sounds, which was provided by others. (Thank ♥)

I like the graphics and the sound. A improvement of snake game, where you are to catch a AI controled dog under the help of your tail. So, sometimes it helps when you have longer tail.

This is a really adorable take on Snake, with puppies following you. I was hoping the path of the main puppy who drops dog biscuits to be a bit more random, I wasn't sure if it running around the edge of the world for most of my playthrough was intentional.

Loved the pixel art and the cute character designs as well!

@gamepopper Thank you! The dog actually runs away from you and picks the farthest distance. So if you're going around the edge on the earliest stage they will also.

Really cute! I noticed the same issues as RefinedSalt, and I also noticed that it was really hard to make some of the tighter turns because the controls aren't always responsive. Still, the idea and art are great, even if I could never see more corgis as a bad thing.

Its a simplistic but enjoyable game. The pixel art is cute and nicely done and the audio fits perfect to the mood.
The gameplay itself is entertaining and it has a nice replay value :)

Thanks for all the comments and feedback everyone! I've uploaded a bug fix for the dog getting stuck on the dog treats, and swapped the first level from being the empty/basic one to the single christmas tree.

Really cute entry! I found that the AI for the dog you're chasing could stand to be improved though; it often got stuck in a corner or beside a bench and ended up being far too easy to catch.

I loved this cute little game! Really great idea for the snake mechanic, too! I *think* I beat all the levels. After a few maps they started to loop, or at least I think they did. :)

Would do with an explanation of what exactly this is, because I couldn't figure out really what was going on until reading some of the comments.

Part of the problem is that it really isn't necessary to built a huge line of dogs, so it's pretty simple to just collect a few treats, catch the dog, and then repeat, and build up the score without much danger.

Really nice entry, I tend to love snake games and this one pleased me a lot. The artstyle is really cute and you chose the music well. Like some other said, a bit more explanation could have helped (no idea I could catch the dog) But in general I really liked it :)

Super cute! The art is great and the audio helps to set the mood. Had a lot of fun chasing the dog, it's a bit hard, but fun.
Don't really have any improvements I can think of, maybe the score is a bit hard to see because it has the same color as the fences, but that's just me being picky.
