#### From the book of POLYARNIK: _Beware of sea._ Sea hides many dangers, it will make you slow and cold, and also you will need to dry your coat after swimming, which is never nice because you only have one. _Beware of ice._ Ice might be your friend because you can step on it, but it is also an enemy, as its chunks float around uncharted, only waiting for a chance to bump into your ship. _Beware of your friends._ Trust me, there's nothing your friends want more than putting a boot up your coat and kick you out of the ice to the sea.
#### CONTROLS (keyboard/gamepad): Get as many points as you can while surviving against all odds and stocking back your ship with the supply boxes! Bring a friend for even more fun!
Controls in P1 mode: - Stick, d-pad, arrows, WSAD - movement - Space, Enter - action
Controls in P2 mode: - GamePad1, WSAD, Space - Player 1 - GamePad2, Arrows, Enter - Player 2
Cool and Challanging game. At first I was a little confused as to how to get them into the vessel. Maybe you explain how to play the game inside of the game i do see you have on the LD page. You also represented the theme very well. Good Job. Me and my team just released our game if you played and rated that would be appreciated: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/crumble-1
Haha first of all, everytime I hit a penguin I laugh so hard. The combination of the sound effects and the humor its pretty good. Also everything is on point except for the difficulty over time, that ramps up too fast. Overall great game 4/5.
This was a funny entry, I don't know if it was intended but the penguins breaking the blocks worked together and kind of formed a song somewhat, or were beatboxing together. I found trying to line up the direction of the kick a little frustrating but when I managed it, satisfying I got just over 3500 score but when I went to take a pic it went back to the menu :O Sprites would flicker and clip but apart from that overall cool and good entry.
I'm always looking forward to see what you guys do every jam, and once again you've done an amazing job! The overall quality of the game is really high and it looks beautiful. The gameplay is quite simple but fun, and the co-op option is a really nice addition. Fun that you can kick the penguins into each other. Would be really cool if there was some music as well. The sound can at the moment get a little bit annoying after a while and this wouldn't probably be a huge issue if there was music to balance it out. Overall a great job!
Hello fellow ice gamemaker, we were happy to see your review about our game and the gameplay, it was on point and seeing someone playing and improving in our game was very good. Regarding your game, it was funny and the mecanics so good, sadly i didnt record the gameplay buy if I play it again i will. Keep the good work :D Pd: The only issue is that it run a little slower in my pc and it need a up and down sprite for movement, besides that amazing game!!.
That was fun! Perfect feedback on controls, animations were just lovely and all the dynamics of kicking the boxes into penguins to fend them off was awesome. I liked how the difficulty clearly picked up after a few minutes of playing to allow the player to get a good grasp of the controls, without having to make them replay to complete the game. UI could have used some more work but other than it's a fun jam entry :)
@iarzu hahah yeah, I wasted 4 hours on one animation and didn't had time/strength to do 2 more, even though vertical walk is usually easier to draw.
@hegemege sadly, UI was neglected a bit as well =( Was busy making combo events tracker instead (like kicking back a penguin that was kicked by another player, or colliding two penguins by kicking them at each other)
Жестокие люди, перестаньте проявлять к животным насилие :/
Don't hurt any animal! What a lovely game with a big amount of work on the pretty aesthetic. The controls are really smooth and I love the mood. You manage the theme cleverly. Maybe I could appreciate a litle background music - something ethereal. You did a funny and efficient entry. Bravo.
Thank you very much for the video in which we see you playing my project Deadlock. It was for me a real pleasure to see someone reaching the end - and in less than a half hour. I thought that it was just impossible, but you did. Bravo. Your feedback is really useful for me. Thank you ++
Really enjoyed the penguins' sounds and animation. It seemed like fairly often the boxes would spawn in locations where you can't push them in the right direction to get to the boat. Would it be possible to control where the boxes spawn so they, for example, avoid the edges?
Love the goofy animations, everything was very fluid. Sound design was great, funny and informative of what was going on. My only complaint was that it was a bit tricky to aim the boxes just right when bumping into them moves them, but the arrow showing the kick direction helped a lot. The fact that you could kick crates into the peguins was a nice touch. Good work!
Wow! More people should have played this game already. The art is really clean (although it will be nice when you can add a kicking animation in different directions.) I like that there's a goal and an enemy; it's not just a defensive game. The squawking and splashing were just right. I was afraid to go into the water, but it didn't seem to slow me down. I would play this outside of the jam.
Absolutely great polished game ! I love the graphics and the animations, the concept, the sounds are absolutely excellent ! Good job !!!
My only complaint is that I don't know how the score is calculated. Playing football with the penguins seems more reawarding than loading the boxes. Animals lovers gonna hate :smiling_imp:
Here is my best score :
And here is my score when I manage to load all the boxes  :
I really found the animations funny for this, the bit where you hit a penguin with the box got an audible laugh out of me. I think I was having some framerate issues trying to play this, which might just be the computer I'm on right now. I'll come back later once I'm on my home pc and check this out again.
@geckoo1337 Who said they're animals? they are obviously alien robots from outer space.
@historymaker118 yes, the game's not exactly optimized *looks at the code mess* yep. totally not. Chrome might be a bit better option, but decent GPU is required for comfortable play.
@yami-no-tenshi-8 Nice mention of score. It was supposed to create a balance between the need to win and getting highscore. As far as I can see from your screenshot, it worked =)
Really fun game! I love the use of penguins and breaking ice tiles but that might be because we used those in our game, too. That's already a big plus in our books! Apart from your great choice in enemy design, the balancing is done very well, the art style looks nice, overall very polished entry!
That is a really fun game! It is full of details, such as, the blocks that the penguins are planning to break (even when they are still on water) are highlighted, you can hit penguins using penguins and boxes; you can kick penguins underwater, it has a 'combo system' with some visual rewards such as: 'Nope' (when you hit some penguin on the air, just before he lands on ice) or 'Air Denial!' (When you use a penguin to hit other penguin that's just about to land on ice)... very, very polished game. I liked the water effect, i think the reflect it's just an animation, and probably the water too... but i'm not sure. Did you used a shader to draw the waves on the water or the reflections?
So... you did it directly for the web. Hmm... using... phaser  Cool
And... what exactly happened with the final boss?... lol
@mattincho, thanks! Yes, that's old good Phaser :)
You are right, the water is made using shader - here you may see that one (a bit fixed, but you may uncomment top #define to see original one with all its problems): https://www.shadertoy.com/view/MltcWf
That was just downright epic! Really cool to see that you made this using Phaser as well, wow :)
Very polished, innovative, nails the theme, good audio and just downright hilarious. It took me a second to realize what was going on though with the penguins thrashing at the ice, lol.
About the only thing I would have done different would have been, allow the guy to take damage from the freezing water perhaps, or even have that as an option for a higher difficulty. I'm really impressed though, and I"m glad out of the thousands of games submitted, I got had the pleasure of playing this gem! Great job!!
Lol first game ever where i found kicking animals satisfying. Fun factor and graphics are great here.
Minor issues: - Pacing could be like 1.5x faster - There is a technique to leave boxes on the most common edges and block penguins getting into the island - Also scoring is kinda weird, because i'm not sure whats more important - points, or getting 12 boxes into the ship? I feel like I should keep 11/12 boxes status and score more points
Excellent entry! The graphics were great. The animations were very satisfying. It was hilarious to kick the penguins around. The difficulty was just right for me. Great work!

Very good.
@cepeka, @ja-viera thank you too.
love your games!!
I don't know what to do with the drawers. :(

It works very well with cool feedback ^^
I scored 5134 with a loose. (10/12)
Got the idea to kick the penguins
Played with friend

All other stuff was made without shaders.
