To ensure that your lands are always fertile and plenty of food, a divine hand is always welcome. You just need to do one thing - deliver some animal to be sacrificed.
An easy job if you weren't vegan, right? Let's say that animal sacrifice is not too much your vibe.
So... Will you be capable to cheat a God?! Show that you have mastery!
[INTRO]
Use your plantations to create animal replicas at the altar in the right time for the sacrifice or the angry of the god will fall on your head.
Change log:
- Fixed timing issue where would be impossible to complete a level - Fixed Music bleeding from main menu to another level
The actual game is pretty simple, though I didn't get the shovel bit at first from normal gameplay, had to come back here and read it on this page. Honestly the time limit is real tight even once you do "get it", but still a positive experience all in all.
The art and animation is excellent! I really like the player character. The "Veegggiefriiice" intro is also amazing. Took me a while to figure out how to play, but got it eventually. Didn't feel like I had much of a hope of beating the timer though. Nice entry!
I love the artstyle! It's way too late right now for me to play a time-based game (really stressfull), but I got through the first level. The time restriction was perfect, and I managed to do it just in time. It took a little while, but I managed to work out how to play the game without needing a tutorial. Good game design, I'd say.
I like the idea and the gardening is well implemented. Placing and replacing the blocks on the altar can get a bit frustrating. The blocks rotate when I move, making them hard to place. Once I placed a block too high and was unable to jump high enough to pick it up. I passed the first two levels. Very polished.
On my first attempt I planted the shovel under the altar, dooming me.
@baptiste-guerin did you read the tutorial here? we would use it in the game but we ran out of time. but the game is like this: plant the seeds, water it and than use the shovel to harvest ( to use the shovel you activate it with x and jump on top of t to dig) if you need any more assist tell just me =)
Great intro mhahahah I liked how it is simple and challenging. Time is a bit short, though. Maybe if player received bônus time for well placed pieces. Art style is great, loved the character!
@thiago-andre-as we also felt that the time was a bit short, but sadly we also almost ran out of time finishing this hahaha. but with some pratice i think you will get the hang of it =) thanks for the feedback
I found placing the vegetables to be a little bit finicky for my taste at first, but once I stopped worrying about placing them perfectly the game became a lot less frustrating. I also felt the difficulty curve was off - I failed the first level several times before I was able to complete it, and then I finished the remainder of the levels on my first attempt. I'd like to see the timer relaxed or even removed for the first level, and then tightened as you get into the later levels.
Overall I really enjoyed the game once I got into it. Great work!
The visual style and introduction are OUTSTANDING! I love it! Who made the music?! In my best Dethklok voice "it's brutal" I found the actual game quite confusing to play. Took me ages to understand that I needed to jump on the spade. It is very hard to see where the spade will go when you use it too. I was unable to complete the first level... but this was a great entry. Well done!
Your style is amazin and i absoluteley loved the titlescreen, even thoug the rest of the theme did not really work with taht any further. The idea and amount you put in is really good and fun. For me the controlls are a bit wonky. Great job overall!
I LOVED the intro song lolol it was awesome. The art was cool, the puzzle was fun. I had absolutely no idea at all what I was doing the first time, but when I came back here and read your manual, I figured it out. Your manual on here is really, really good.
Your game was played on my stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos ) on the third day of Ludum Dare streams. Thank you for sharing your game with us! You can find the timestamp of when your game was played here: https://goo.gl/N2rkr8
Great opening and artwork, poor vegan dude lol the time limit is so challenging, it's a great way to implement this puzzle. you managed to make it fit the theme perfectly too, I really enjoyed playing this, great job!
Really interesting concept. And the art and sound is really good.
I think I would revisit the controls and game mechanics, they feel very frustrating sometimes. The shovel were never place in the spot I thought it would, throwing elements were weird.
A few less than good poins, first - The mechanics are hard to get, even with the tutorial up there. Admittedly, it took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure that I needed to jump on things to activate them, but the illustration could be clearer. - The time is really tight for the mechanics. - Carrying and placing the pieces could be polished. It's sometimes impossible to place a piece correctly because it's supposed to go too low for the character to reach, and sometimes the piece gets stuck too high to grab it again. Also, I suppose the rotation of the piece should not change when the character turns.
All that aside, this is really marvelous. I love the way the graphics gel together, the concept and the mechanics are fun and the puzzle was marvelous, too. I really felt that my second playthrough was a lot more efficient than my first, and maybe if I had a few more seconds in the second level I'd make it. :P
Really lovely idea! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Ow-xrYDXDFE
Thank your for submitting your game to our stream! I really enjoyed playing it even though I was waaay too slow. PLease keep up the good work and leave me a note when you are releasing something or at least uplaofing an Alex-Compatible slow level
