Dungeon Buddies
It's a short rogue-like dungeoneering puzzler! This game was created from scratch for LD, including all assets and music.
If you encounter any problems, or just for a general chat, drop by the #ludumdare IRC channel on afternet.org!
I used the following tools and libraries to make this:
* Tools: text editor, Audacity, Logic Pro X, Pixilart.com (sprite editor), Gimp
* PIXI.js (a HTML5 canvas library)
* Howler.js (for audio)
I made this game mainly on my new Linux workstation, except for the music (because of Logic Pro) :smile:
How to Play
* You can play with mouse or keyboard.
* Num Pad or Arrow keys to move, attack, or interact
* Most actions cost you hit points
* Attacks work by subtracting the hit points of each participant from the opponent
* R restarts the level
* Tab switches between characters
* Special abilities are explained in the sidebar
* There are 10 short levels
* You must get one character to the exit in order to complete a level
* "Cheesing it" is allowed and encouraged
Random Notes
* There is no upgrade mechanic, you get all the abilities from the start and XP is basically just for high score (because I couldn't come up with a dungeon design that wouldn't screw people over who upgraded "wrong")
* You'll see how well the other players did on a given level on the level end screens
* It should work in most modern browsers, but I tested on Chrome/Chromium only. Frame rates on Firefox will most likely suck, but it should be playable.
Post LD Patch Notes
* Changed the XP stats to show percentages instead of number of participants
