Tecuhtliztacuhxochitl's Sacrifice Simulator is a game about growing a colony of farmers, warriors, and civilians with the help/hindrance of a sadistic deity.

Made by @adafheyesh (code, art, music) and @almost (code, UI)

---

Summary:

* The god offers things in exchange for human sacrifices
* VICTORY is an offer in the permanent demands tab
* Permanent demands upgrade your people

---

Controls:

* Mouse
* Pause time - spacebar or the pause button (for planning and reading)
---

Sacrificing:

* Choose effect, choose people, click sacrifice
* Some offers have multiple requirements
---

People:

* Can change profession in the People tab
* Farmers produce food
* Civilians give birth to new people
* Warriors increase army strength
---

Mechanics:

* Food < population ⇒ starvation (damage over time).
* Army < invaders ⇒ damage to some people
* Time passes ⇒ People level up ⇒ more efficient.
* Profession change ⇒ reset level.
* Max level can be increased with Permanent Demands.
* Max population is 10.
---

Tips:

* Increase your population size early.
* Once you have 5+ people, it's ok to sacrifice, you can repopulate.
* It's ok to take some damage. Plague / Invaders / Starvation are not game over.
* Use the pause button to plan ahead and to read things.

---

Note: there is a victory message, but the game will keep playing.

Echoing comments above, it was a bit tricky to figure out, but looked functionally complete. Some behaviors seemd buggy (like choosing professions) but it wasn't clear if this was because I wasn't allowed to, or the checkboxes just weren't working properly.

I see what you're trying to achieve, but it might be worth doing some bug fixing or simply adding detailed instructions for luddites like me.

@fireslash The way to change a profession is to click People, click on a specific person, click on the desired profession, and click 'Change Profession'.

The People tab doesn't allow you to select multiple people at once, and changing to the People tab auto-selects the first person. I think there could be some buggy behaviour when a selected person dies, but it shouldn't happen too often.

Takes a while to figure out what to do but when you starts to understand it's a pretty fun game. Great concept. :smiley:

This is one of those games that you NEED to take some time to get into in order to get what the game is about. But when you do that, it is great. Impressive depth for a Ludum Dare entry!

One of the best games, so far. It was pretty funny to me. Took a while till I understood what i was doing. But the sacrifice for the victory didn't work :( Graphics of course are not the best, but this game doesn't really need them. Good Job!

@philipprapp95 Yea, we didn't actually add any victory or defeat screens. I thought that some people might want to continue to get upgrades and so the game continues. It definitely could have been handled better though, for example a victory screen with a button to go back to the game.
