What is a wizard without his staff? A naked drunk fisherman. Fish for fish to buy back your clothes, spells and dignity and if you fish long enough, you might even fish out your lost staff.

Should you click when the red arrow points at any of the colorfull rectangles your wizard friend will cast a spell, fish will be caught and money earned. You can also buy new a spell after every day in shop and boost your fishing skills.

Wizard Fishing is a free arcade game created in only three days with memes and love for Ludum Dare 45.

What the fish did I just play?

First off, LOVE the graphics. Beautiful pixel art, props to you on that! The gameplay is pretty simple, but it does the job well... when it works, at least. Not sure whether it's my mouse or the game, but directly after successfully casting a spell, it won't read follow-up mouse inputs for a second or so. If you put that in to prevent players from spamming the same spell before the cursor can move, maybe set it so the cooldown refreshes the moment the pointer leaves the initial spell zone? Other than that one gripe that may just be a hardware issue, this was a fun game! Well done!

Also, I wondered why the game was muted by default. I understood why after I unmuted.

Pixel art is amazing, the gameplay is nice but kind of hard to play with a mouse. Loved all the upgrade. Music is maybe a little bit repetitive. Overall very good work !

Very nice polished graphics. The music isn't bad, but it is a bit abrasive. The concept is simple, but fairly enjoyable. It would be nice if the things you could buy back had a quick description of their effect. This game also follows the theme to a reasonable degree. Overall a fairly good entry.

Loved the graphics, the take on the one song all youtubers are playing and I can't figure out which is it. Game-wise a bit more than a clicker. Small quirk in UI - for the pattern where two of the rectangles are cut in the middle by a narrower one, it just look like a perfect center (as every other precision game has), but here it's a miss. Was not clear. I can see some people enjoying this way more than me :).

Well done with the game. The concept was pretty funny and it was fun to play. I was able to beat it and had a good time doing it. The hourglass upgrade was pretty cool and I would loved to see more unique effects like that. Also the music was a good meme :smiley:
