A simple game where your only goal is to break the loop. This was supposed to be a Ludum Dare 47 COMPO project, but other responsibilities got in the way and I needed an extra afternoon plus external audio, so JAM it is!
How to play: simply drag and drop the highlighted code elements on top of each other to edit the code.
As a programmer I like the premise, and the programming seems really robust for displaying the correct console output for wrong answers. The music fits in well to with that zen feel, and I got stuck at level 3, but it was fun none the less.
Nice game! Just completed it, I wish there were more levels but the ones you've done were neat and had be think for a few minutes. I especially liked the one with the "Sub" function, I don't know exactly why I had trouble getting its point because I already knew "SubString" in C#, but that was fun to find out myself by trying things!

Maybe you could've included a comment for some things. I got stuck on the sub-method, because C# uses a start index and length, while yours seems to use a start and end index.
I loved this game. Even made me search what sub in lua does :D We were also considering a similar game but weren't sure how many non-programmers would understand how it works :/
i had to play this because my game had the same title. i really like the idea for a programming game and it was fun figure it out. nice job on the game.
This!!! Is!!! So!!! Cool!!! Reminds me of Baba Is You, but only the puzzle part. It's actually kinda impressive that the code runs correctly for every wrong combination of code possible. Even if I never used Lua before, it was easy to understand what the code did and how to break the loop (having the programming language's name in the game itself was a great touch), the difficulty and fun was trying to fumble around with the pieces. This is really solid, I loved it a lot!
Cute little game. The chill music is just perfect to solve the puzzles. I wish there had been more. But as you mentioned, making them was probably time consuming. ^^'
Ah, I got as far as the 'while do, end' premise and couldn't think how to make that into a game, nice one! I recognise you from the Corona forums (nick sherman), I haven't really been over to the Solar forums much, mostly been doing C64 games for the last year! :D

It just took me a few moments to get the `sub` function, but that's more a "me" problem; my first thought was substitution instead of substring because I use Ruby at work. Playing with the arguments and checking the output made easy to solve the level anyway (in hindsight I could've googled for lua docs :sweat_smile:)

@madbeagle Hey Nick! It's been a while! You should really pop by the Solar2D forums/Discord. Things have been picking up quite a lot since the engine went fully open source and there's a lot of interesting stuff going on. :D
Solid little programming game! Graphics were nice and retro, code easily readable, and the little wiggly snaps as you move blocks around were lovely. Music was low-intrusiveness and makes for a surprisingly zen atmosphere to debug to, and the little bleeps of success were nice.
Learning curve is definitely liable to be tricky if you've not spent years programming, but I had no trouble with it, and appreciated the meta-loop when you beat the last level. Great work!
