Deep Space ONE

Cool game! I wish I had lives or checkpoints, dying in one hit and being sent all the way back to the beginning kinda stung...

Great art and funny characters, feels like an old space game, the only downside is there's no lives/checkpoint system :( Besides that, the game was fun!

I quite liked the character art, and the chiptune as well. I wish it were a bit more difficult and I'm not sure if the last phase of the boss was supposed to fight back, but it didn't for me? Anyway, I'm glad you're going to continue working on it, I'm sure it'll be a blast!

I really liked the humor and the characterization you achieved even in a short amount of time, the dialog system was very cool. I do think the default text appearance speed is too slow, I ended up right clicking each time.
I liked the characters being on the sides of the dialog so you could tell who was talking.

I did think though that there was a bit too much dialogue up front for a short jam version like this.

Controls were simple and worked well. I liked how the boss was multi part so you had to take out each of its sections. Some sort of health indicator would have been great to know how much each section had left.

The difficulty was very low, but that might be what you were aiming for.

Also I think if you had added a simple shooting sound effect it would have made the game that much more engaging.

Overall, nice fun entry. Great job!

Overall pretty good, I liked the gameplay, though it felt a bit too easy, and it felt really satisfying to move the player ship around. I really liked the music, it added a lot of ambiance to the game, and the graphics were actually really good! A bit of sound effects definitely would have been nice, but yeah, overall really cool experience!

The art is so good!

I did not care for the anagram of the enemies - felt like a homophobic slur. Whether that was meant to be a joke or not, it felt inappropriate. I would remove that, regardless of anything else. I recognize it may not have been intentional, but I suspect a lot of people would get upset here.

As for the gameplay, it was decent - basic, but decent. I agree it needs checkpoints but they're hard to pull off in such a time frame - might make sense to cut some dialog functionality in the future, as it's a big time sink, and the music was good. I liked how the ship, when changing attitude, was shown differently whether it was tilted up, down, or not at all.

Cool game, nice story but I don't undertand boss fight. Why does the boss become weaker during fight this isn't challenge for player.

A bit quick. With a little more threats to face could have been better. Nice job anyway!
