My favourite game of the jam so far, loved the gameplay mechanic of throwing the ball and the witch at the end who tried to steal the ball was the perfect finale!
This game looked really cool and I wanted to play it but when I clicked on it there was only a Windows build. But I opened up Wine and it run great on my Linux machine! I like the use of the same ball for activating buttons and combat. I could not hear the audio. I don't know if there is audio or if wine is just glitching. The pixel art graphics looked really good and before the boss battle there were lots of hearts in a small room but when I jumped up to the hearts I accidentally fell down and had to battle the boss with 2 HP but it was still easy. Loved the game!
@ianthebee Haha, thank you! @twoshoedlou Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it! @emeraldboy44 Nice that it ran on Linux with Wine, thanks for going the extra mile to play the game. Yes I agree I may have made the boss battle a little bit to easy. @caiolima Thank you!
Fun game! The controls are very good and the levels are well made. The ball-throwing mechanic is fun and interesting and it fits the theme well. My only real criticism, is there should be a visual indication of whether a button has to be pressed with the player or with the ball - or just allow any button to be pressed either way, because it seems like an unnecessary restriction. Otherwise I enjoyed this game! I especially liked the boss fight at the end!
Super fun ball mechanic, I love it when games have you ricochet projectiles off a wall or something so you feel skilled even though you're really not haha. The witch definitely made an interesting sound lol but I enjoyed the idea of red ball vs blue ball at the end!
Really cool idea and mechanics. On the 3rd or so level, the ball could get stuck, so it would be nice to have a reset mechanic OR make sure the ball does not get stuck, so I don't have to reboot the application. The art and music were nice too. Well done!
@sugarsugarsugar@rawb@kypello@juliuscube-arcade@kelvin-nguyen@shaunjs Thank you all very much and also thank you for the feedback. Yes sadly there is a platform where the ball can get stuck... Sorry for that. Regarding the buttons where the vertical ones are to be "pressed" by the ball and the horizontal ones that are reachable for the player, can only be pressed by the player should've been better visualized!
Good game! I like platformers. The ball game mechanics add a nice spin on the genre. This is only the second platform game I come across from this LD. I thought there would be many more. I was also stuck. Maybe, this can be fixed by adding a little bit more bounce to the ball and by adding color to buttons that let him know which buttons are for ball and what are for player. Or maybe the other way around. Create more places where player can screw up, and add a restart button/key. So the player has to figure out on its own which buttons are for him and which are for the ball.
Fun and humorous premise that leads into a great compo entry game. Especially for a game jam it's so tough to get the controls to feel fun to the point where the player can feel skilled and tested and experiment a bit with it.
