You are 13 and all you want in life is to see that SEXY BOOBY on the interwebs. Too bad your family computer is a piece of junk, not having been updated in over a decade. It's prone to slowdown, and crashes that keep you away from that SEXY BOOBY! SHUT UP MOM!
Can you handle a terrible piece of hardware and troubleshoot the issues that keep you away from your dream?! Or will you simply give up and spend all your time playing "SurFree" instead. The choice is yours.
Tips
-When in doubt, use the troubleshooter! Or just click on things! It's a short game.
-Crashes are normal and won't set back your progress. Every error do slow down your computer though but nothing a reboot won't fix.
@shaolin-dave Hmm, there should be sound for most things, except for just clicking. If you're missing sound in the web version try the windows version.
@silkworm-sweatshop Can't try Windows version, I'm on Mac. I see you have source code though, maybe I can build a Mac version and play that. I'll send you the app when I do.
Got a hi-score of 400 on surfree btw.. Also got to browse some sweet booby, wish i had the licensed version of pohole explorer tho! Why this game is trying to incentivize me from petting sad kittens i dont know, but i will pet sad kittens no matter the consequences, now, and forever!
Had a laugh with this one, thanks haha, "solid"(it was pretty unstable huehue) entry! Only "negative" thing i noticed was when i got fleas, the crossout buttons passed through the overlaying popups, was playing the HTML version.
@kekkodude > Only “negative” thing i noticed was when i got fleas, the crossout buttons passed through the overlaying popups, was playing the HTML version.
With a theme like this, this is almost a positive =P.
Very nice balance ... not to easy not to hard .... a small graphic glitch occured if the surf game was behind a other window (water effect over the other window)
"Macrohard Portholes" I've seen all I need to 5/5 humor.
Absolute masterpiece of an experience. The only thing that could have made this better was more minigames like the cable minigame. Either way, I loved it.
I have no criticism at all. Even the end surpassed my expectations.
Very funny entry! Very well done! Graphics look good and derpy, everything moves! Very nice! The audio is top notch, fits very well. Would be nice to see more puzzle/activities, but what you were able to do within the compo time is amazing, good job!
Great job!

Haha, loved this! You set the mood up perfectly, the errors were funny, even a game within a game! Great aesthetics too.
Called it. The moment I saw the title, I 100% called the ending. Did it ruin the experience? No. In fact, it made it all the more enjoyable, thinking of a clueless adolescent trying to find something -ahem- stimulating.
Would love to see this expanded as a multi-ending game, a bit like The Stanley Parable, where the desktop or icons and such would reference the last ending the player saw.
My favourite game so far! The random crashes and other classic Windows shenanigans made me laugh out loud. And it's quite an original concept too and fits well with the theme. Great job!!!
I just love playing these whacky games on LD! Amazing stuff my friend. There isn't much to say really, it is fun and I really enjoyed it. The graphics are humorously bad (in a good way!), and the sound effects are on spot. Good job :)
SurFree.exe was an excellent game. pure win 95 era time killer perfection. Also, I loved clicking on the booby to love the picture and have hearts flood the screen :)
Haha made me laugh. Very silly and fun experience! The audio was great too. The boob success track was a banger. 10/10 boobs, had a great time. GOOD JOB 👏
Laughed so hard! This is perfectly executed mate! The graphics are fun and quircy, and the small details make this game just so much more fun. The cryptic errors, the way how you transition to the cable box, etc.
This was so good, I laughed really hard, and the ending score was great! Good 90s vibes! edit: omg this is the most funny game from the entire jam so far! I'm still laughing when I remember it!
Favourite entry so far! Really brilliant job, love the concept and executed really well with great humour. Nice detail with the animations and audio as well, can't fault it :)
Ah, this brings back memories. The complicated process of balancing not getting caught and maneuvering countless janky interfaces will always be one of those things I look back on fondly. Thank you for this great and stylish entry. I think you really knocked it out of the park design and art-wise. It really did feel like the olden days where I was but a wee lad on the search of some Internet booba. I also think if you added a few more random blue-screens you would arrive at a marketable Windows build. Great work, as always!
Incredible game, one of my favorite so far. I love how bootleg everything is, I fucking love the "homework" folder, it's all so fucking spot on, the virus, everything. Outstanding work. What a gem, so short, so sweet, you nailed everything. What a sexy booby.
Really great game, I got a bit stuck for a bit thinking I had to beat Surfree :) Ended up getting a high score of over 4000. Finally got to see some boobies though which was nice.
Hilarious game! Love that you even have a fully functioning minigame on this computer, there was no real reason to really but the fact that there is just makes it feel much more authentic. Also captures the frustration of a slow computer really well!
Mr. Silky Worm, is that an autobiographical game? It seems very inspired by real events, down to the secret folder (which of course should have at least one other folder in it, and a deception folder and maybe even a deception file, like a store front for the mob). The visuals were very charming and the win95 sound pure bliss. Music was also top notch, even with the surfer game. Enjoyed that a lot, see you in LD50 :D
PS: killed it with the title, it caught my attention even before release. I'm a simple man!
When I was like 10, I had a folder with 9 folders inside it numbered 1 to 9. Each of those folders had 9 folders inside it, and each of those folders—you guessed it, 9 folders. I was going to write a cool book or journal or something and hide it in one of those folders like a combination lock. I started making them, unaware that that would be almost a thousand folders, but I almost immediately got confused and couldn't tell which folders were which. Then I got bored and played Pokemon.

This was fantastic! Gives me old browser-based point-and-click-adventure vibes and I was loving it. I enjoyed playing SurFree and had a big laugh at the ending of it.
Short, sweet, and humorous. Excellent interpretation of the theme. I loved that WarioWare moment when you go to plug in the cable. Amazing abomination!
Edit: went back and played SurFree, loved the music, hate the Yeti
Funniest entry I've seen so far! The visuals and SFX were both great, fitted the game perfectly. I loved how the loading screen was the same as the initial load into the game. Made it feel each computer reboot was the entire game rebooting.
Wario Ware meets… something! Really good sound and visual design, fun to figure out if a bit easy 😅 Of course there was the game within a game too, enjoyed both kinds of surfing. Short but sweet!
Yeti must die.... yeti must die.... yeti must die.... I thought I was doing *so good*, and then that STUPID FLOATING YETI got me with the most beautifully unexpected jumpscare ever.
The annoyingness of this game is beyond what anyone could ever have expected. This is absolute perfection as far as abominations go, and remember to *always pet the kitty*.
Seriously, did you think I wouldn't make a beeline for the BSoD button? The instant it loaded up I went for the start menu and saw a BSoD program, if someone tells me there's a BSoD program in a game I *have* to hit it. 😅
What a charming little game, it sets the atmosphere perfectly, the sound fits the visual style, I've encountered no glitches or bugs. The ending made me chuckle, it's just so funny. A perfect compo game, must I say. Great job!
this was a lot of fun! i love the win95 nostalgia, and the handdrawn/pixel look.
i'm not exactly sure how i got the big boobie win though. i debugged the fleas, then got stuck on loading forever, played some surf. tried to click back, of course can't go back in the trial version. restarted computer on a whim, and then it worked?! i mean, if that's what you're going for then great job, very true to life.
Don't really have any complaints. Rather nice and funny adventure game lol. I'll probably play SurFree more though lol. Loved how pretty much every program shown on the computer came together in some way. Sound effects were also cool and the game as a whole great. Awesome entry
I loved the humour and end music! I left it playing in another tab while I wrote this comment :) One thing I really appreciated is the little sparkly effect when clicking with the custom mouse cursor. Entirely unnecessary, but I really liked the effort.
Saw the booby! Very well made entry with great humor. Not overly complicated, so I finished it fairly quickly. It definitely brought back some memories. Which I cannot talk about here, I am afraid. Oh and I loved the sounds. Really well made entry, no wonder you got so many ratings, you definitely deserve them!
Very nice experience, nice and short. It wasn't directly obvious what to do but also not extremely difficult. Graphics fit perfectly to the style of the game. Well done.

love the 95 nostalgia
A bit of sound would have been nice, even if it were just in the minigame.
I like the interpretation of the theme.
EDIT: sound issue was on my end, bluetooth headphones got muted.
@diego-escalante two sides of the same coin

Haha touché! It's not a bug, It's a feature haha.
every game this LD

Awesome experience! Great job on this one
Please reduce the sexiness by 40%
Also, I loved clicking on the booby to love the picture and have hearts flood the screen :)
10/10 boobs, had a great time.
GOOD JOB 👏
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
Also, a great take on the theme.
Also also, I like the included minigame. It's so responsive.
Excellent music and humor. Great work, especially for hitting the compo deadline. I would definitely watch that booby shake again.
edit: omg this is the most funny game from the entire jam so far! I'm still laughing when I remember it!
Спасибо!
lovin' it! I was surprised by the longevity of the game and I adore the artstyle o:
Wow, this Surfree music really slaps! Really excellent!
LOL, NOT THE YETI, AAAAAAAAAAARGRRHHHHHHHH!!
Wow, what a great booby.
This, my friend, is a masterpiece!
Windows 95 _was_ unstable! Great use of the theme!
Very funny and packed with small details, like an entire game within the game!
Love this entry. A lot of creativity and humor went in to this great job!
I really felt there in the 90s tinkering with windows 3.1. That was more or less it!
Everything is unstable! Young people today should value us older people for having gone through these problems.
PS: I had several homework folders.
Congratulations!

This game makes me feel like that.

10/10 comment, thank you for sharing

The animation of the boobies was especially great! :D
Funny game, love it! Will you continue developing it?

Here's playthrough if you're interested:

Not much else to say - I think you nailed it :D
SurFree > SkiFree.
IT!
