(Due to time restraints and limited testing the HTML5 build may have some slowdowns in certain areas. Best way to play the game is by downloading it but the web build is fully functional otherwise.)

*As the era of Magic ends, so begins the upcoming era of Cool Ninjas™℠®©. Our heroic mage fights to protect what he knows; an old world magic temple he grew up in. ...But how long can he keep it up? Time marches on.*

Time wasn't on my side this compo, but I managed to get it functional and *kinda* what I wanted. Of course, I wasn't totally sure what I wanted until there was 12 hours left on the clock. I'm happy with what I have but I wish I could have fleshed it out a bit more or have some music mid game.

I used some audio assets that are public domain or generated that don't belong to me, so while the game was made for the Compo I have submitted it for the Jam.

Credits:

Intro music generated by Wolfram Alpha

Ending music made quickly in SunVox

Shotgun sound made by mixing different sounds from a pack called 'Random' by *kyles* on freesound (I had it downloaded already for other things)

All other assets are made by me during the compo.

Thank you for playing my game, and I wish you all good luck during the compo!

Fun for a few minutes, but some parts of the game need some proper explanation in game (don't walk over the glowing beam things. and how to handle the glowing ninjas)

Over all the game was pretty great. Made it all the way to the final cutscene. Music was nice and the gun audio and hitstun was SUUUPER satisfying. However, the fun from this game came from running around killing people with a shotgun. It soon became tedious as I found my self fighting to get the AI aligned with a portal/lazer thing. It kinda spoiled some of the fun. However, that isnt to say I had a blast shooting things up. Definitely had my attention all the way through.

@izokia I'm glad you enjoyed it! I did put a lot of work into the feedback of the gun, but I feel like the twist of having elemental ninjas that can only be killed by specific bullets did kinda mess with the flow. I felt like I had to spice it up somehow but in hindsight I could have just made different kinds of enemies instead and had a better game 😥

@firetwoonenine Whoops! Okay so I might have totally forgot to put some text and an image there to explain what to do. The thought passed my mind but I must have never actually done it. Would it be uncool to add a tutorial after I submitted the game, or would this be a case where it's okay?

Really enjoyed the concept and humor! Shooting mechanics were satisfying, however I found surviving pretty difficult without understanding some of the environment mechanics.

Fun game but there's a big difficulty spike on the level with the spinning lasers, barely made it through 😅

Thank you for including the WebGL build!

I love Hotline Miami and the game pumped me up when it started, but unfortunately no matter what I did I could not kill red and blue guy combination. I had them spinning around the room for five minutes, but they just wouldnt die! Maybe I'm missing something...

Anyways, great job!
