Cool game

I had fun playing this. The graphics are nice, and the gameplay is solid. Great submission.

Really fun game - balance feels really well tuned! Started to get into the swing of things in my most recent attempt and then got (inevitably) overwhelmed by the baddies.

this is a really solid game. the game feel and mechanics are really nice. i like the humor around the volcano and the funny faces the enemies make. the movement is nice and smooth also the game loop is really solid i couldn't find anything for this game to improve on. this game feels very polished

Great entry! Honestly enjoyed my plays of it :) the only nitpick is that the hitboxes on the baddies seem off? I saw fruit going through them but they didn't get hit :/ aside from this, I especially loved the fact you could load baddies into the catapult :D
Edit: Nevermind, I just had to keep the LMB pressed to actually hit them :X

@puree-adventure congrats, and thanks! It was actually the first time I drew that cool S, had to look it up on the internet. Didn't want to make it a bad cool S, it would be disrespectful.

@esayitch Thank you! Oh yeah, I totally forgot to adjust that! It's currently checking collisions around a circle centered around their feet, which is also used for keeping the characters from colliding into each other. So the collision is off by about 30 pixels or so :). Good catch, I'll fix it in a post jam version.
And yeah, if you're not throwing hard enough it wont hit them at all. I should fix that by just bouncing the fruits off the guy, while not hurting them.

Good time. I like the concept. I was at the edge of my seat waiting for the catapult to finally fire off the fruit seconds away from corruption. My only gripe was that fighting off the badges didn't feel very satisfying.

Great job, it was very fun and engaging. The graphics are cool and the eruption was really satisfying.

I had more fun just collecting and feeding the catapult than I did once I realized there was a throw mechanic. Unfortunate as I felt like that took away from the game a little. The graphics are consistent and appealing and I enjoyed watching my helpers desperately try to help

And this is why I make sure to play your games each jam. Holy crap what a fun time! Not nearly as difficult as balancing a horse on a tightrope lol. Super super well done, the sound effects and animations make every action feel impactful. Throwing things at bad guys was so satisfying.

Very good entry. Great art style and plenty of humour and definitely on theme with the hectic gameplay and sense of foreboding from the everpresent volcano threat :sweat_smile: Particularly enjoyed dazing/picking up/launching the bad guys though not sure this really helped me appease the volcano!

Great Idea ! Maybe when you shoot fruit to catapult auto aim on it ! And kill easily bad guys. It can borrow the mechanics of a clicker too :)

A good little game. But I was sadly never able to hit any of the monsters.

Very cool! Visually cute, love the style. Sounds appropriate and the game pace is nice and speedy. I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but the big meat men who shake the trees didn't seem effected by my tossing bananas (or any of the fruits) into their face.

@ismael-rodriguez thanks! It's not super clear in game, but you have to charge up shots by holding down until the circle is still. Then you gotta hit them three times to knock them out temporarily. After that you can hit them a few more times to kill them, or pick them up and place in the catapult.

At first I thought the enemies are too powerful, but once you get the mechanic they were cool. Also loved the fact that you can throw them into the volcano. A bit sad that you can't knock out an enemy with another one, but I guess then the inevitable would be evitable :smile:

Art is music is great! And the powerup are really great because they indeed make you feel much are more powerful

I liked everything about this game. Quick easy game-loop that still has replayability. Nice art and sounds. I think you knocked it out of the park! Well done!

there was just one odd thing (bug? f e a t u r e?) i noticed: the game would kinda speed up a little for a moment after i chose an upgrade

Pretty great entry, the artstyle is all really cute. The gameplay loop is quite simple, but solid and works nicely, the upgrade options add a nice bit of strategy. Nice fun soundtrack also. Can't really think of any complaints, all feels nicely polished. Only managed a highscore of 5600 myself. Very solid entry. well done.

Fun little game! I liked the upgrade system, it really makes you want to retry with another "build". Good work!

This was really fun! My first few attempts failed pretty quickly, so I had an expectation that things may not be balanced, but I ended up getting pretty far (enough to buy out all the upgrades). It's really fun trying to balance killing enemies and filling the catepult, especially when the ammo is the same for both. Very simple mechanics that mesh really well.
Art is great, music fits really well, mechanically feels very polished. Great stuff!
