Version 1 description (made in 72 hours)

Barely finished, probably lots of bugs in there still, but I like how it turned out.

The game is only playable in 1280x1280.
Web version is on itch.io: https://savorytoast.itch.io/hasteland

The game has no tutorial, so here are some instructions:
- There is no player, everything is mouse controlled
- Click on tiles to perform activities
- Initially, you have 2 resources: wood and food
- Each unit of time, you consume some amount of food (automatically)
- In winter, you use wood as fuel to keep warm (automatically)
- Click on tree tile to chop it down, which gives you both resources
- Every winter get an upgrade or unlock a new activity
- On year 6 you unlock farming (two new resources, water and wheat)
- Click on grass tile to make it into farmland
- Click on farmland tile to plant seeds (you need 1 water to do this)
- Click on water tile to collect water
- Crops grow 10 seconds, click on fully grown tile to harvest, which gives you wheat
- On year 8, a windmill is placed on one of the tiles
- Click on windmill tile to transform all wheat you have into food
- After year 10, there are no more events, you can continue playing indefinitely

I tried to make an interesting progression to the game (as in all clicker games) but looking back I can see why it could be overwhelming for a new player.

All in all, my main focus was to create a game that is unconventional and good-looking (and good-sounding) :)

Version 2 description (made after jam ended)

Changelog:
- resolution is now 533x533, that should fit most screens
- added improvements to the UI, mostly minor cosmetic changes that make the gameplay smoother
- added tutorial (which is just sandbox mode without time pressure)
- added an ending
- added sounds

This version is only accessible from downloadable files for now.
