We've all experienced that moment when the drink has run out at the party and your best friend is late, sound familiar? Let's help Ted get to the party and not lose a single bottle of beer.
I got past the obstacles on my second try, but nothing more happened. No more levels? No "congrats"? I is winnar? Perfectly adequate platformer, but I didn't see a story. I must have missed something. The colliders for the platformers are a bit weird, at least on the edges of them. Idk how they're made in Construct, but it's a little issue.
Tottaly agree with your honest review @2wfmg. This mini project was made in such a rush ,and it needs lots of additional work to it. You got me thinking that we should maybe improve this game in the future. Thank u for your review!
I had way too much fun playing this game. While I think the jumping/platforming could use some refinemend, I had a blast jumping over the bear traps and getting to the party. Would love to see more levels of drunk bear adventures!
@house-trap-charlie That would be great to interact somehow with the discoball ,funny tho many I see think like this as well xD. Thank u Charlie for the review!
Collision is a little wonky but you have the foundation for a solid platformer. I like the the art and animation. I think music and sound effects would add a lot. Good job.
Congrats on getting this in! It looks really nice, and has a fair bit of platforming in it! Like the others, I would've liked some kind of ending. Also didn't realize I could double jump until after I'd beaten the game. I really liked the theming, bear traps as enemies was a nice touch!
I don't know how the engine you used works, but you may want to look into having one way colliders on the top of the platforms and using a separate foot collider for the bottoms of the bear's feet. That way you can have Ted only responds to the platforms when his foot hits them (instead of sticking to it from the side and being able to jump again). Also the walk animation made Ted dribble a little, I'm not sure what was causing that.
The art was very nice. I appreciated being able to jump again when I was on the side of a platform, that helped to avoid a bunch of obstacles. With a little more polish this could lead to a great game!
I liked the art and i love beer so this story profondly touched my heart.
A little music in background would have been nice. A timer when you get hit by enemies would be great, so you can't loose 2 lives just by hitting an enemy once.
Not sure if the hands of the bear should be part of the hit box. But it was easier for acces high platform =)
A feedback when we manage to get to the party would be great.
Congrats on delivering a nice little game for this jam !
"hm, controls kind of weirdly" "let's just say the bear is drunk and ship it" ;). It was fun. I would have liked a little "yay, you made it" at the end, though.
Good job.
