Zombie Rush 3: Escalation

Absolutely love the music changing for the different weapons, and every track is a banger. Absolutely killer work there. The animations are a bit stilted, but the tilesets are pretty good looking. A clearer indicator of what each weapon was would be nice, since the pixel art can be a little abstract. Maybe text flashing across the screen saying "FLAMETHROWER" or something like that. After you figure it out, though, its pretty addicting. The crossbow is the clear winner for me. I do wish that the sword swung faster to make up for its short reach.

Played this for longer than I was meant to! Super fun and the music is great. I really enjoyed the sword and the revolver! Well done to your team!

Wow. I'm not kidding, this is probably the most original, refreshing, and fun game I've played so far. Excellent take on the theme, and the music and graphics are awesome (they're LOFI but in a good way ;D). Awesome work guys.

P.S. I don't know if the high scores are pre-set, but that was a fantastic inclusion!

the highscore is online and everyone who creates the times will be recorded on the places. with the times that are on it so far it is still difficult to get on it but doable ;)

Ahh, this was nice :) Simple, but the gameplay felt very rewarding. The music/sounds lifted the experience. I just felt like I could relax, get sucked in by the music/sounds and just kill a lot of zombies. Was wondering why the SWAT guys were fighting with the zombies, and then it dawned on me.. I must be tired :) Great entry!

Fabulous. Extra point for the highlander (+ music) really made me chuckle. Only niggle is the spawning on top of the player - comes as quite a surprise rush and can end the game quite rapidly. Loads of fun though :smile:

The switching music was fantastic and the weapons felt powerful, I think the sound and the knockback really sell them.

The flamethrower feels like a bad roll, I struggled to live for those 10 seconds, maybe it could have a different purpose than low damage in a wide AoE? Or intentionally lean into the "bad roll" and give the player a longer warning window that they have to clear out enemies before getting a bad weapon and being on the run.

This was very satisfying. Good job!

Well Done! I like this game. You made a game what I thought create too, so it had similar idea. There are great combat system, sound engine, good. I played your game with my friends yesterday. We were impressive!

Is this built in MonoGame or SDL? If the former, what command do you use to build the project? Are you using NetBeauty to clean up the dir or have you set "--self-contained false" which is why .NET 6 is required?

This was ace! Loved the music changes with weapon was really nice to help understand what was going on! Also the general game feel was great and leaderboards for a jam were a nice touch!

@lunkums Thank you! NetBeauty really helped me out there. Yes the --self-contained variable was set to false, I changed it and now it's playable without .NET 6.

This was a fun top down shooter! Tough, but fun! I think my best time was 1 minute 25. And as a bonus, the PC totally looks like Vegeta from the top, so the image of Vegeta running around shooting a bunch of zombies was pretty great! Good Job!

Warum habt ihr denn keinen Browser-Build gemacht? Runterladen nervt... ich geb euch trotzdem ein paar Sterne. Die Idee scheint mir nämlich ganz cool zu sein.

Great game!!! The music changing according to the weapons is the detail that most caught my attention and that makes all the difference in the Mood of the game. The feedback of the shots is great, I want to always be shooting and killing zombies!!!! Really good! The only thing that really bothered me is that at times the zombies appeared inside me, not giving me time to dodge or even attack them.

@bytinggames I published my game through MonoGame as well, with the self-contained flag set to true. Some people were reporting issues with my build not running even when they had .NET installed (even though they shouldn't need .NET for the self-contained deployment). Was curious if you all had similar issues?

@lunkums I didn't encounter that issue yet, but I mostly didn't release my games with the self-contained flag set to true. I tried your game and it seems like the same problem happens on me: It simply doesn't start. I tried a couple of times to beat the best Julian's record. But I didn't manage it. It'so fun to play. A simple working concept, nicely done. Graphics is not perfect but it didn't bother at all. Very nice entry. god job

Being spawned on top of was annoying, but at least it was clear where they would spawn.

@someone I think we have the spawn points with vines and more cracks in the ground and also still marked in red quite clearly marked :D

Very simple but VERY well executed. There's a visceral satisfaction to all the weapons in this game. (I'll admit, I was a little concerned going from a rocket launcher to a crossbow, and then I saw AN ENTIRE LINE OF ENEMIES get wiped out in one shot! XD)

It's a snack-sized game, but it's very much a complete package!

Admins, please ban this game from LD51, it's too addicting! (just kidding lol) The gameplay is PHENOMENALY addictive and satysfying to play, and the idea of "theme music" is so creative. Really good entry, keep up the good work!

Cool game! Brought me back to the days of flash games, complete with the indeterminate amount of sequels. Loved how the music would change from gun to gun. Getting the pistol later in the game is as good as a death sentence :sweat_smile: Nice work!
