Damn Rats - LD52

Nice low poly style and the slapping sound is very satisfying.

this is nice game with simple controls. awesome graphic but some issues in rat on the field sometime not able to hit the rat...overall super and simple game.

A nice game, simple to understand ! the hitbox of monsters are a little too small for me but the difficulty is well balanced with it!

But the slap wasn't working at some times. I had to spam for 1 slap and sometimes not at all :/

I managed to save 56 crops, but I had to sweat hard to do it. This would be a great replacement for KovaaK's if the rats had a little bigger hitbox

Never thought I would be swatting rats with a fly swatter lol. Would be sick if you could get upgrades

This is a pretty simple and pretty well made little game. The visuals and sound effects is really good. I would liked a bit more gameplay. And the cooldown on the fly swatter was a bit long. But overall a good jam game. Well done.

I struggled a bit with the hitboxes, but thats my only grumble, very nice and simple little game otherwise, well done!

I think that a really simple feature you could add is some kinda super attack with a big cooldown that clears the entire screen!

Fun game! Reminds me of the Mario Paint fly swatting game. But with rats. Great work!

I think you nailed the difficulty. It feel like i was always on my toes trying to keep the rats down, but it never escalated too quickly where I felt like it was impossible.

Simple but fun game. I like how it forces you to think about how to swat multiple rats for max efficiency. I did find the swatters hitbox too small though. Also slapping sound effect is great.

Those poor rats. I just finished playing A Plague Tale and this feels like a spiritual successor of some sorts ;)

i like the low-poly graphics of the game. the gameplay is simple but a bit frustrating because collisions and hitboxes are not super natural to me.

This was a short, chuckle-worthy, whack-a-mole-style game.

Things I liked

1. The graphics were pretty good - the 3d models, colors, and shading all looked really nice
2. The connection of the 'whack' sound effect with the whacking motion was well executed

Things I noticed

1. It was hard to click sometimes, maybe because I'm on a laptop playing through the browser? It would be nice if 'space' was supported as an alternative to left-mouse button
2. If I whacked a spot with multiple rats on top of each other, only one rat would disappear
3. I died pretty early because I couldn't whack the rats quickly enough - I would have liked to play longer

That rat picture got me. Basic game with fun gameplay I always enjoy! Also well done on the 3d graphics I liked them.

Really fun and cool game! The music is also pretty nice! There are too many rats however, maybe adding features like walls or auto-killing towers (like a tower defense game), though it's quite satisfying when I hit multiple rats at once :sweat_smile:

Even though the music is good too, it doesn't really works with what's happening on screen. I wouldn't hear such a peaceful melody in my head while fighting against that many rats. 😄
I wished I could upgrade my weapon at some point to kill rats more efficiently.
Ended up saving 19 crops, is that good? 🙂

I love the graphics and the music! Well built/designed too!

However, after some deep thinking while observing the half chewed up vegetable garden -I decided to let them just have the vegetables in the garden -instead I will enjoy that fresh box of tomatoes they are ignoring lol xD

This was super cute, and I freaking loved the THWACK sound of the flyswatter as it, erm... scared the rats away without hurting them of course 😊 Congrats on the game, it was so well polished!

small suggestion - it would be much more satisfying if you could hit anywhere and kill mice in radius, instead of aiming for small mouse hitbox

Nice looking little game and the swatting feels quite satisfying.

This was such an unexpected experience. The music made the whole thing seem routine, like, "Just another day swatting rats." Instead, the absolute SWARM of rats deserved more of an apocalyptic soundtrack XD

In all seriousness, this ended up being a lot of fun. My hand does not appreciate me right now, but it was fun nonetheless. I had the bright idea to switch clicking fingers near the end, but it didn't seem to help me in the end all that much.

I wasn't sure exactly what the bar at the top indicated: was it just a timer, or some indication of the crops being harvested? The composition of the scene was nice. I liked the perspective and static camera, and the flowing water and growing crops added nice movement to the otherwise simple scene.

Next time, I can't wait for upgrades like sprays and traps!! As an improvement, maybe you can add some sort of crosshairs to the ground so it's super clear what I'm going to slap? That said, I don't think I had any issues smacking the buggers.

Simple, unique and fun - great entry!

I feel like the balance needs a bit of work because I quickly became overwhelmed by the amount of rats coming in all of a sudden. The ramp-up in difficulty was gradual but still a bit too quick for me, I didn't get the feeling of victory or success after beating a level, it just kept ramping up.

The fly swatter made me giggle... :)) And its kind of ironic that ill need to get a new mouse after this game! And also i believe im owed a 1st place trophy for this magnificent harvest! :3

Since rating is not closed, I decided to try out some more games. Simple yet fun game, visuals are good and nice sound effects. I wish hitbox of rats a bit bigger because I had hard time trying to click on them. Other than that, a solid entry, good job!
