@vantos3001 Yes definitely, i'm good for menus and interfaces, maybe next time i would be better if i make a management game or in this mood.

Cool retro style, reminds me of carmageddon. First few runs I didn't know what to do, because it isn't clearly stated in the game what is the goal. I know it was told in the description, but would be much better if game informed about it directly.
I really liked the gameplay, but even short run seemed too long for me, because it seems we can sell only packages that we got in the finished run. This locks upgrades from players for quite a long time.

Neat little game. Reminds me a lot of Quarantine.
It would be nice if there was a little more indication that you had to bump into other cars to get packages.

Movement felt nice and it was pretty satisfying hitting the cars with the projectiles. I think making it easier to earn money could possibly help with the progression a bit and keep it more engaging. Good work!

@soulreviews @SquidGod @bartekde thanks for your comment, you can only bump the delivery trucks, a sound is playing when you gained package, and it's add on the counter, if your integrity is low (life of the car), just dodge and finish your run, you will have better chance later.
If you lose (game over by car crash) the garage take your money and you can have a debt (negative money) you need to reimburse it before to can buy amelioration.
I understand than can be unclear (i added explanation on the page) and can be difficult, but i like these game which need engagement and concentration.
With ameliorations the game is speeder, gun shoot speedly too etc and your car can really become a tank !

PS : You said Carmageddon, Quarantine, this is really amazing these old game was masterpiece, that make me very happy !

I enjoyed the feel of switching lanes. Good game that runs. That was fun few runs!

Great game! The steering was satisfying and upgrading the car felt awesome as well. It made me think of Carmageddon the moment I got into the game, I swear those grandmas were aiming for the car :joy:

Kinda hard to play until you get used to, liked the sfx and animations a lot, reminds me a lot of old car games :)

Yeah Carmageddon and Quarantine (Road Warrior) was the first thing that came to my mind after seeing the screenshot. I wouldn't mind some weird driving game with this art style :d.

Solid base for a game. A bit hard to make enough money but not impossible. Good job!

@zelirman Thanks, for your comment. I currently work on the 2.0 version, more easier and complete, i tried to embed the HTML5 version on ludum dare site, and that work so i can now update on itch.io my post jam version and leave this ludum dare version for the votes !

This is a pretty fun game, seeing whatever you shoot fly away combined with the crisp sound effects is satisfying. More than collecting packages by bumping into trucks, I enjoyed dodging everything and shooting the obstacles out of existence.
At first I was confused about the goal of the game, but that sort of just let me enjoy the mechanics a bit more. In my head, it made more sense to slam into the grandmas to steal packages from them (no idea where I got this idea). Or to shoot them down. Bumping into the trucks is much more risky though and needs skill.
Maybe if you were to elaborate on this, you could make it a bit harder for the player to fall into such crazy debt. Since the packages only sell for 10$ each and you only get 2 packages from each delivery truck. Even then, since your default max integrity is 100%, you can only get 10 packages, or 100$ each time.
But it's unlikely that you'd get that many in a short run, which costs 100$.
My suggestion would be to add a way to get packages aside from bumping into trucks. Maybe shooting a truck gives you 1 package, and bumping into it gives you 5? Something along those lines.

Overall though, it was a chill game, and I had fun playing it. Although, I don't think I played it the ended way since I was deep down in the debtor hell. Hope you had fun making it!

@icerider007 Yes the mechanic to obtain package is maybe too difficult and risky, i study other method in my version 2 (post jam), if i replace grandma by pizza deliverer that make sense if he give you also a food package, but these grandma are funny so maybe another type of package.
Your other suggestion about package is interesting, i need to test and think about that.
I'm glad you taken fun with that little game, i started this later after the beginning of the gamejam, because i had not find an idea right away, so the version lack of music/polish/equilibrage etc...But i found the force to finish them for my 2.0 version !

The lack of music sort of gives it a more chilled out feel, and I like it this way due to its simplicity. I believe it actually adds a bit to the mood of the game.
I'm glad you were able to finish it in time, and even somehow make a 2.0 version. You ended up with a good final product, so it was worth it.

Cool entry, game immediately caught my interest with its visual style and gameplay! It was a little strange how my cursor was a reticle though didn't really function as one, but otherwise the gameplay loop works quite well and it'd be nice to see this game developed more :)

@shrombus Thanks ! Ahah for the cursor it's because i wanted to use this to throw explosive package with the right hand of the driver, but i had problem with that so i delete this function and just put a canon on the car, and the cursor is stayed like that !!!! (true developpement story ^^)

The game seems simple at first, but turns out to be quite tricky. I thoroughly enjoyed the couple of runs, even though I didn't manage to earn a lot of money. :smile:

Very satisfying game. I like our face in the mirror, the camera tilt when I turn. There is SFX for all that happen. Adding an upgrade system is a good way to make the game interesting longer.

Pretty fun game! You even implemented upgrade system in it. Though this instant death mechanic is pretty brutal I think😅. Almost reached 50k and that roadblock destroyed my run. And you solo'd this project? Mad respect!

@ahistyap I'm glad you enjoy it. Yes i make him solo, i'd planed to post in compo, but i begun to make this idea on sunday-night (i had made another prototype in the saturday but it not satisfying me). I made all the models with blender (in 3 hours) and that's it ! No music on the jam version because didn't have time to search and found it. I finished these points in the post version available in itchio. (PS : your game is really impressive too)

Thanks for your video @jupiter-hadley ! If you car crash in the run you lose your packages and you can not sell it to earn money and upgrade your car ! Push the trucks collect package dodge or shoot others, and if your integrity is low, dodge until the end of the run !!! (strategy ^^).

I think it would work well if packages fell out of the vans and there were delivery zones to drive through so it's like you're stealing delivery jobs on the job and for the crosshair to affect where your shots go but I like the idea here. Shooting stuff and having them fly off and sometimes cause chain reactions was fun! It was pretty funny sending old ladies on mopeds into space!

I like the HUD btw, nice and immersive. Nice job getting an upgrade system implemented too! Good job!

@sarah-alexa Thanks for your review ! In the new version i have created a package bonus so now you can see package on the road ! For the crosshair my primary idea was too use it to shoot directly, but i had difficult to calculate angle direction between GUI and 3D projection so i abandonned this idea and put the gun on the car directly (and the crosshair stayed), the idea of delivery area is interesting and i need to think of that.

Poor grandmas. Crushing them is so satisfying.

Loved the effects of shooting or knocking things off the road. Gave me a good chuckle

Interaction with trucks are problematic in this game because of reasons:
1. You must bump into trucks to collect the packages but when you do this you lose hp like you bump into obstacles
2. Trucks themselves may run into obstacles and you LOSE your precious packages. It is really frustrating and should not be.
3. You can collect only one package from each truck but there's no indication after you collect.

I like first person riding. Keep up good work.
