In Frumpkin 2, your goal is to traverse the dark and spooky maze to clear out the frumpkins haunting the village. Use your magic lantern to shoot them.

Build this game in 72 hours using Unreal Engine 5.3.1
Please be aware when judging for graphics that we adapted our particle effects from Kakky's "FX Variety Pack" and used NOTLonely's "Greenwood Fantasy Village" asset pack for our environments.
Characters, animations, UI and the rest are our own original creation.

Man I wish I could try this but K&M controls aren't working and my PS5 controller isn't reacting to the game :(

The only thing I can rate this on are graphics and audio since I'm unable to play the game because it is controller exclusive.
Was really looking forward to playing this one.
The graphics are very very appealing and polished from what I can tell, as well as the music and audio being to the same quality!

Oooh. The first spooky thing of the season :)
Cool little game. I think I killed all the dudes in the first level.
I like the lighting. But I think the graphics could be dialed back a bit. My laptop with a 3050 had a hard time running this at framerate.
I appreciate that you have a keyboard mouse build.

This was pretty fun. The models, lighting, and other graphics effects all came together really well, and the level design was great. The music also helped set the mood. It was a little weird having to use a controller to play the game but also having to use a mouse for the menus.

I love the art style and the game play was pretty fun overall. I personally don't really see how it fit the theme of limited space but I enjoyed playing either way ^-^

The initial idea was for it to be a tight maze in the dark where you get lost but as development went on we kept widening the maze for better movement, brightening the environment to show it off more. The theme kinda got lost in the process :P

I had to download the game, unzip the game, install some c++ stuff on my computer, restart the computer, update my computer, remember my log in password, tell windows it was not a virus, and get a controller to play.

It was worth it for the art.

It was a bit hard to play with K&M as rotation wasn't smooth and some angles were skipped. And it is a shame because from design point of view and especially visual it is pretty damn good. The models, the textures, the overall atmosphere all fit together perfectly and the music just adds to it. One small thing I would appreciate is to open the menu during the game since there is no option to exit the currently played level.
Anyway, good job, keep it up :)

sound design is cool, aiming is a bit iffy but still manageable, really nice implementation of the limited space idea, i like the tight corridor spaces and it had really good use of minimal lighting! :)

The theme, character, lighting and music create a really good atmosphere that personally I love. Without a doubt it is the best of your game!

The conrtrolls are good, however you have rotation problems if you try to move with left stick and try to aim at the same time with right stick. I think that gameplay would be much more enjoyable without this issue.
Also, the enemies (pumpkins especially) attack too quickly, meaning they can kill you instantly.
A way to protect yourself would be nice, such as having the projectiles collide and be eliminated, or a parry that reflects them.

You have done a very good job in a short period of time, congratulations and keep working on it!

Lighting and graphics were very good
For me, game was pretty hard because of controls (don't gamepad and prefer keyboard + mouse)
Also it was hard to find all pumpkins, but I found them)

I liked the mood and atmosphere :) the lighting set the mood well. Found the game pretty hard, I only have 3 health and I'm walking and all of a sudden hit in the face with a fireball.

The performance are really bad for me, about 13fps in average. Since I couldn't play it in good condition, I'd just say that the heart texture for the heart made me think that I add lost health. I think it would have been better with it was filled and not just an outline.

Nice game. Good graphics, music and atmosphere. But controls feels odd. I've played mouse and keyboard version. When I tried to shoot while moving, the projectiles flew in the direction of movement, not in the direction of view.
