Pitch

"Midnight Racers" thrusts you into the heart-pounding world of high-stakes, merciless street racing. As the clock ticks towards midnight, you find yourself behind the wheel of a sleek, turbocharged machine hurtling throught the night. Your mission is simple: reach the end of the winding road before your AI-controlled rival does.

The catch? The road is your lifeline, and it's rapidly shrinking. The "Limited Space" theme comes to life as the once expansive track narrows down to a perilous bottleneck, allowing only one car to come through unscathed.

Controls

- *WASD*: Move

I love this aesthetic! The light trails are a really nice effect, and I really like how the stark white car models contrast against the dark background and glowing signs/trees. Very cool style, and a fun racing challenge. Any plans to add more levels after the jam?

Aesthetics and the music are the best part! Cars are very difficult to control :red_car: . Maybe a longer track with turns etc?

The game looks great, it's got great aesthetics and the music adds to the mood. I like the controls being really difficult, it makes the "getting to the narrow part" challenging in a fun way even though the level is so short.

But yeah, I would've loved a longer level with some curves, or additional levels.

Even though I only had to press forward it seemed impossible to catch up to the rival. Maybe it has something to do with the web build and framerate? Controls also felt floaty. The concept is cool though. The artstyle looks nice and unique

cool game, I got lucky i think and got just under 23 some how, didn't hit the car at the start. fun game :)

Great graphics and music, very nice aesthetically. The car is a bit hard to control but I found it kinda fun. The only way I could find to beat the AI was to run into it which felt a bit cheap.

Looked amazing - had a really cool vibe. Really liked the effects as the car sped up - the camera moving down, the.. speed lines(?) and the way the car shook.

Controlling it felt a little bit.. loose or mushy. Maybe that's what happens when cars go that fast.

Love that I could pit-maneuver my opponent.

The cel-shading effect on the cars and world is cool. The taillight trails added visual flair as well. Definitely nailed a synthwave/retrowave vibe with the aesthetics and music. The game seemed very simple though..Even though I was holding down W, seemed like the AI had a massive head start every time. Eventually I somehow got around it after enough restarts. Steering, like others have already said, felt pretty floaty. Cool start to a bigger project if you wanna turn it into a more fleshed out racing game :)
