Picky Plants

You just got home from the garden centre with a new haul of plants for your
favourite hobby: terrarium building!

These plants seem rather picky about how they're planted though (and you're
not sure all of them are actually plants...)

How to play:

- `Left Click` on a plant to pick it up.
- `Left Click` a space in the terrarium to place the plant.
- Place all the plants in the terrarium to complete the level, though you need
to make sure all the plants are happy with how they're placed.
- `Esc` or `P` to open the settings menu while playing.

Made by Jelly and Dome in Godot 4.1.
All art and audio were made from scratch during the jam.

One of the best games so far! I really like the puzzles, and I could imagine myself being immersed in this game, playing on my phone all night. Awesome work!

I loved this game. It's so peaceful and zen. Can see myself playing this on a tablet or mobile to get some brain exercises. Smart idea to implement the theme into the game. The art is simple and cute and the music is soothing

Awesome game! Really smart mechanics and game design, I loved playing all the levels it was really smart and the animations and graphics are so cool and cute! Yeah the last level got me stuck for a while, but I got the solution in the end!

Wow, really fun puzzle game, the puzzles weren't to easy, there was a lot of variety, really impressive. Only thing missing for me was a reset level button.

Lovely game. Really nice art style, I enjoyed the calming music. Nice sound effects.
There is a good amount of depth to the puzzles with some interesting plant "effects.
Very nice selection of levels that get progressively harder in a way that isn't overwhelming.
I think my only suggestion would be to add a way of clearing all plants or click to clear a plant as having to drag the plants off the board if you make a mistake is a bit clunky.

I really loved the vibe, the graphics and the music. Really interesting puzzles, it was so funny when the first chess puzzle appeared, i liked that you made 20 levels. Thanks for the game, had a good time with it

Awesome! I like everything about it! best puzzle game I played today and at 19 levels (including a funny name for each and also a well thought puzzle) it is really impressive for 72 hours.

If you ever make more levels I would love to play them :)

A fun, cute and quite challening puzzle game! I made it to level 19. Not sure if I liked the combination of chess though. It was nice but a bit confusing telling the pieces a part and felt a bit out of place. The art, music and UX are great!

I wish the game communicated the plants' happiness without having to re-plant them though, maybe a small icon next to each plant when pressing a key or something :)

Great game! Challenging, with a great mood. love the music, love the art.

Not a fan of the chess pieces, as they felt unrelated to the general narrative, but they did add another level of complexity which was fun.

The worst part of this game is that it ended. It needs a sequel asap. Maybe add some more random pieces, something like chess pieces. Chess pieces were so good, I laughed when they just randomly popped up. But seriously. A full steam release here now, preferably with achievements, thank you

This is such a wonderful game! Thank you for making it. I quite like puzzle games and since i like plants much, this was very very satisfying. I like especially the pixel art. It fits to the theme and the title is perfect. I disliked the chess levels though. They just killed the mood for me. The thing is that (at least for myself) chess problems are quite common as puzzles. I would have liked you rather to stay within the plants theme all the time, since the plants rules make for unique puzzle situations. I admit though, that i liked the last level, maybe cause the plants were in the majority there. This level for very hard, i needed about an hour to solve it. But i did. Overall a very well done level progression. And very very well done overall! :)

I really like this! Very polished from transitions to sound effects to having a cohesive art style. Gameplay is also great, I has a fun time solving the levels :)

I absolutely adore this theme. The puzzle design is really interesting. The plant illustrations are incredibly cute, and the music is delightful. However, there might be a need for optimization in terms of programming, as the gameplay feels a bit laggy. In fact, my Chrome browser even froze during the loading process. Indeed, the inclusion of "54" on the ending page is a thoughtful touch.

Very good job! I liked how much content you managed to squeeze in such a short time. I love the chess plants as well. I feel like there could be many more different levels with all sorts of different challenges and puzzles!

I'm confused on the level "A match made in heaven" You can't put a heart flower in between 1 grass(?) plant and 1 cactus, the cacti don't go in the same row/column as another plant?

Nice and soothing game, scratches that smae itch as something like solitaire or organising a messy drawer. I think the pixel art is lovely and the music helps out with the already relaxing mood

Nice challenging puzzle! I like the variety of plants and constraints, the arts are cute, the theme is fulfilled well, and the last level took me a while before I find how to solve it, but I managed to finish. Very good job!

At the beginning I thought that it's just another relaxing game to plant plants. But I was wrong - it's much more than that! I liked it, but maybe there were too much free space on first levels. Maybe it will be filed with more plants on higher levels, but I couldn't play after 6th levels - my page keeps reloading cause of the weight and resource it's using. Anyway congrats!

Great game! I really liked the aesthetics and the puzzle pieces. Though, for me the chess pieces where a little weird. Would maybe be cooler and better if they where also plants and fit the theme a bit better. The puzzles where great! Not too hard but also a little bit of a challenge.

Sometimes it was a little unclear which plant was 'unhappy'. The effects all trigger simultaneously so it's hard to see which plant doesn't have it's conditions met. Maybe a status indicator or graying out the plant would have been clearer. Now you have to pick each one up and plonk it down to see the effects of the smileys.

Anyway, great work overall!!

Even though I'm not into puzzle games, I enjoyed this very much. Clever level design and the perfect mood for this kind of game. Although it took me very long to beat level 14 because the order of plant placement matters for some reason only for that one mechanic. Loved the chess crossover, very amusing :)

What an amazing game. I think a restart button might be good addition and maybe a little icon to show which plants aren't happy, as it can get hard to keep track of the sad plants in the later levels.

Wow, this is really good! You've got a lot of clever level designs in here and I appreciated the humor in the addition of the chess pieces as well. Last couple levels took me a while to solve. I also liked the sound effect for completing a level. :)

Given that the plant placement order matters sometimes I agree that it might be nice to have a restart button, as there were a couple times I backed myself into a weird situation and had to drag all the plants off manually.

Overall I really like this one a lot, well done!

I really enjoyed this puzzle game. I got to level 12 before I stopped. I think I'll definitely come back to it and try to complete it at some time, but it's very good.
