Welcome to Bubble Bud Island!

The Deities of Chill Chilly and Chillie summoned you as a Bubble Bud to compete in their name in a... Beach Yukigassen Game?! Where instead of Snowballs, you throw dimension-shifting water baloons?! Whahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Controls:

```
- wasd: movement
- space: jump/ respawn (if in ghostworld and picked up a soul)
- shift: run
- hold rmb: target
- lmb: shoot
- hold tab: birdeye-view (Camera)
```

Chilly vs. Chillie

Represent Chilly the Ancient Snowman against the team assembled by the red Behemoth Chillie. The rules are simple: Exterminate all 9 lives of the opponent or Steal their Surfboard and bring it to your own to win! Be careful though, as it is rumored these surfboards summon a dangerous crashing wave on even the slightest touch!

It's not all sunshine and rainbows...

Once hit, your soul is transported immediately to the Spirit Realm - it's what the Chill Deities play over in the first place. Snatch back your soul to be granted passage back to the living.
Choose your respawn location wisely, as you'll bring a exoplasm-waterballon pickup back with you.

You are not prepared...

The jam version of the game consists of shooting, pickups and destructible terrain and the basic controllers of the Player, Ghost and Surfing-Bud. There is no enemy and no winning condition, which makes this more of a toy.

__UPDATE: The new Extra version does have Multiplayer Gameplay! Get some friends together and play! O:__
...that is as long as the server's not bugging out.

The Future...

The intention was to focus on multiplayer via Websocket Server, yet the implementation did rob much more time than anticipated. I do intend to release the full game soon. It's hard to predict how much time I can spend on the game from now on, but if I get to it, I may convert the entry to Extra.

__UPDATE: I did decide on Extra and uploaded the Multiplayer version an hour before Rating ended. Writing server logic did take even longer than "one more day", which is why I kind of couldn't celebrate Ludum Dare as I would've liked. But at least my game is playable now n_n!__

Inspiration

I knew I wanted to make a Yukigassen (Snowball Fight Sports) videogame conversion even before the jam began. The rules as I understood them sound fairly videogame-like already. Concessions I had to make due to it being a video game were regarding the number of people competing against each other. Usually it's seven players on each team, which I reduced to 3 per team for more visual clarity and strategic play. Other changes were made to make the game more engaging (dropping soul/ balloon on changing phases, for example). I also intended the game to be multiplayer only, due to the very sports-like character.
