original idea that gives an interesting atmosphere
the only thing is unclear how to influence the victory, according to the description took the coolest but still lost, also it would be great if the restart was before the fight and not from the beginning of the game or at least there was an opportunity to skip dialogs.
The art direction is by far the best part of this game, it provided the right mood, but wasn't too serious at the same time. The idea was really cool as well! It did feel a little like a push for luck when it came to learning who to call though, or how certain calls influenced others. Still an interesting idea and absolutely worth experiencing xD
Oh this one makes me laugh. Lots of memes. Nice work! I kept winning without thinking of strategies so I thought I could always win but it seemed not. Maybe you could show me some numerics or just let me always win. And the words 使用了三种语言并且有点快からちょっと読みづらくて感じます。
How amazing is your art ! I think it could be really cool with more information on the player choices, like if we knew what we were against before choosing our soldiers. As a furyo manga fan i loved the mood !
As a fan I Yakuza series, cannot appreciate this entry enough! :D I really liked character designs, overall style of the game and the concept! And maybe I did something wrong, but for some reason the webapp on itch.io didn't scale for my screen 1920x1080 (even when I was in full screen), so I had to scroll from left to right to see all dialogue lines. But overall a great game, ANIKI!
@inkweeper True, this is indeed our original design intention. Generally speaking, characters with stronger combat power will have longer phonecalls time, and some characters will bring additional helpers. Thanks for playing!
@momotiktik We are definitely inspired by the Yakuza series! It also includes many yakuza-themed Japanese comics(or anime) We are very glad you like it! Thanks for playing!(Issues with resolution do exist on some devices, we will try to fix it
Super great art and music, love the aesthetics a ton. I wish I got some info about the fight beforehand so I could make good decisions on who to call, but other than that it was great. Good job :)
Fantastic aesthetic and mood! Fits the theme perfectly as well. It gets a little repetitive by the end, would have been nice to add a curve ball in there somewhere, maybe once you enter a particularly seedy part of town you get bad reception, or maybe you can choose which way to go and fight one of two possible opponents - something to break the loop up a bit.
But, of course, there's only so much time available. This is still a great submission!!
I really enjoy the visual aesthetic of the game. The artwork and the colors are fantastic. However, I'm a bit confused about how I impact the outcome of the fights. I find myself just selecting random characters and hoping for the best. Am I missing something?
The art is the selling point; it's a shame that whatever aspect ratio doesn't translate well to fullscreen for me; I was having to scroll a lot to see everything, so I missed out on some dialogue.
The art says it all here, I'm absolutely in awe that you guys made such complicated and high quality arts in such a short amount of time. The music is also very fitting for the retro aesthetic of Japanese in the late 90s to early 2000s. Very well done!
The only issue I found, as some people might have pointed out, is that the game window isn't fitting onto the page on some browsers. And when I went to full-screen mode, there's still a part of the WebGL's bottom bar shown within the screen, as if the aspect ratio doesn't really match the common 16:9 monitors.
But other than that, this is indeed a banger of a jam submission, great job y'all!
Amazing atmosphere and art in general! And the music and sound effects are perfect as well, and it's a fun humorous take on the theme. Really good job on this one!
The gameplay is a bit simple and does get repetitive after a little bit - would be cool if there was a way to inject some more strategy to it.
