Summon Salmon

This game is fun. The mechanics are simple but the level is challenging enough that it is still fun. I love the art and how the salmon are drawn. 5/5 salmons with saws :) 🐟

Pretty fun game

The game is simple and fun. I like trying to break my personal record. Sadly leader board does not work.

A perfectly serviceable game, enjoyable for what it is. No real complaints, though I am wondering if it would be improved by some kind of penalty for summoning salmons unnecessarily.

This was great, I love the art, parallax, and the title alliteration. The music was super chill, but I was pleasantly surprised when it picked up when things got difficult. The sound effects were also great. Honestly you probably have something here you go further with, more woodland creatures, diverting river flows, etc. I'd love to see more!

The fish buoyancy added an extra challenge that I liked.

Simple but does the job pretty well. I like that you can go either above or below the mines!
Bonus points for the leaderboard at the end. Good job :)

Funny, reminds old flash games

I always wanted to play as a salmon king, but I didn't know it yet. Nice use of the theme and good graphics.

this has a lot of things that made me feel very powerful and I liked that.

I kinda kept smashing b and k like crazy and it felt awesome to jump over the bombs

I'm very puzzled by the decision to place action keys on B and K, my hand started getting sore from stretching like that after a while. And I think mines presented more challenge than bears and logs, but it started getting more fun as difficulty increased. Art and sounds are nice, and music is very fitting!

I wasn't a big fan of the button layout but it was cool playing as salmon lol

Fun and simple game with pretty good art and cool parallax effect, complete with music and sound effects too so it's the whole package. The leaderboard is also a nice touch, what did you use to store the scores ?

My only nitpick would be the hitboxes which feel a little unforgiving sometimes.

Nice visuals and the fish is good to controll. Would be nice to have more obstacles and summonings. I`m a fan of the style of the fish ;)

The art is great, and the difficulty ramps up nicely. The hitboxes are a bit hard to gauge, but chasing a high score was fun!

@13x666 Yes, initially I used B and K as placeholders for Beaver and Knight. I planned to change them later, but ran out of time to find suitable keys ^^'
@nazorus I had previously created a web API for another game jam, and it was flexible enough to reuse for this game. I didn't create a readme or any documentation, but the source code is available here if you're familiar with PHP ^^
@lllarso That was the plan initially, to have lots of obstacles and different types of salmon, but the artwork took longer than I anticipated :/
