A random graphical point and click adventure game generator, generating complete games using AI. You can generate your own game by providing a theme and graphical style, or play any previously generated game.
This is a rough prototype, demonstrating how a generative AI can generate structured output that defines a complete game, when prompted with a desired base game mechanic. The puzzles, text, and graphics are all generated by GPT4o and Flux Schnell. Games are small and simple, with about 5 rooms and objects. Sometimes a generated game cannot be completed, or, more often, it can be completed before solving all the puzzles. There is some error detection and correction, but no full check if the game can be completed.
I found this a very educative and interesting experiment. Some of the generated games are actually charming and entertaining, with a meaningful storyline and puzzles, if very small and easy to complete. I like that the descriptions often give hints to as how and where items are to be used. Common issues are that the AI tends to place useless objects, or objects that are very similar to each other, or some of the puzzles don't make sense and can be solved only with trial and error.
NOTE: By popular demand, I added user ratings postcompo. Don't be too harsh :-) Guideline:
- 1 star: it doesn't work or you get stuck immediately
- 2 stars: game cannot be completed, or has a lot of near duplicate and useless items, or the plot is meaningless
- 3 stars: it's playable and completable but the plot or puzzles are mediocre
- 4 stars: it has an interesting plot with reasonable puzzles
- 5 stars: you consider this game to be one of the best on the list
