Took me much longer than I had originally planned, pushing me from the Compo to the Jam.

Tips
!> Stay near the castle at the start of a new game, until you're at least level 2 and have the club.

!> The caves are always lain out so that the your target is in the opposite corner you enter the cave in. But the other two corners will contain chests with random items or gold.

!> There is another city to the east that sells better equipment than the castle. You can get to it after the bridge is built.

!> The eastern landmass has two caves. One has the goal of your quest. The other contains a powerful weapon.

!> There are two different sets of enemies you can go against based on which god is ravaging the world.

Post-Jam Fixes 10/28/2026
These are only bug fixes and contain no gameplay or balancing changes.
* Healing in combat would cost 2 PP and have a chance of underflowing the current PP value.
* There was a chance of the final two caves appearing in the wrong areas.
* During one of the endings a flag wasn't being swapped correctly.
* You would only get a PP increase when going from level 1 to 2.
* Evade skill description was not being displayed correctly in level up notification.

If you still want to play the original version it's available for download.

It would be even better if we could see the monsters' HP and status.

This game well recreates this classic experience of playing on old consoles, a great take on the jam theme. I like that fair balance of the hero's powers and enemies, the game was not too simple and too difficult. This story about two gods is also very captivating... Wonderful job! ⚔⚔⚔

cute vibe of a game! wish you could see where the enemies are. it would make surprise enemies more exciting and less frustrating. the music was great and i love the old school game narrative!
