You take the role of a worker in an old '80s nuclear power plant when suddenly the reactors become unstable and it could explode at any time. So you have a minute to escape from the power plant. You have to use the physics of tables to get to hard to reach places. The game is a simple 2D platformer, and it takes about a minute to complete.

My feelings
Here I am with my first game made with Unity since 2022 so it has been 4 years now. Honestly, I am glad with the state of the game, however, I could do better. The game is now only one minute long, and I could make more levels with no problem. However I felt like it would not make any sense, as the main character would have to be really unlucky for every one of his jobs to end with explosions haha. Also I wanted to make a really simple game mechanically this time because I wanted to focus more on graphics and it is probably my best-looking game so far. Also I had to relearn Unity a bit so more complicated features would be a bad idea and the game ended up with really simple mechanics. Also, I really hope Ludum Dare will not end after LD64 - I love this jam and I have learned a lot while making games here.
Really cool entry! I played through it and had a great time. Here is a quick breakdown of my thoughts: • Gameplay & Design: The core mechanics feel solid and intuitive right from the start. The gameplay loop is engaging, and the controls feel responsive and fair. • Visuals & Art Style: The visual direction fits the overall mood really well. Everything looks cohesive, and the presentation makes it very clean to follow what's happening on screen. • Audio: The sound effects and audio design add a lot of punch to the experience and help build the atmosphere. • Theme Interpretation: You did a fantastic job incorporating the jam's theme into the core loop in a creative and clever way! Constructive Polish Idea: If you decide to update or expand this after the jam, adding a few extra feedback cues (like juice/particles or subtle screen shake) or expanding on a few mechanics could make it feel even more polished! Overall, awesome job for a jam project! Left you a high score/rating. Keep up the great work! 🚀
I'm stuck. It seems like I need to use the little starting rolling tray to jump up on the left wall, but I can't get to the right if it because the start zone has blocks that block me from getting the right side. I can push the trolley to the right and kind of get it to bounce off the little grey thing, but I can't get it to bounce far enough to get the other side.
One time I got up on the left of the starting area, but I think I glitched it somehow because I couldn't do it again.
I got as far as the third ladder and could never get back there. I have to be doing something wrong but idk what it is.
It seems cool, the effort for a starting cutscene is appreciated. The concept for the scenario seems cool.
If I could get a hint, I'd love to try to get to the end. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong lol.
@isaac-hisey Hey, thanks for your feedback. So, this trolley's mechanic is kinda weird. You have to push it harder, but not too hard, so you won't get it stuck in a corner. Probably, I should make a feature so you can grab it and go with it, but you go significantly slower. But yeah, it is what it is.
OnlinE_Play (@online-play) I did it!! That was the ticket! I was pushing it too hard against the thing, so it didn't come back far enough. Only took 2 tries after getting out of the area for the second time. Well done! There we some interesting jumps, a little bit of puzzle platforming in terms of making sure you set yourself up for a later step by being smart about previous steps. Well done!
@online-play Honestly, this is pretty great. Welcome back! Hahaha, omg yeah tbh, I was extremely confused by the trolley thing in the very first area. I had to come to the comments to understand what was going on. It took me like 4 tries to get it; and each time I failed I had to watch (the excellent) cut scene all over again 😂. LOL so yeah, it seems pretty great, just really hard out the gate.
Also tbh, I think it would actually be funny if the character kept ended up working in jobs where there was a disaster each time. It would just be funny. I actually had an idea for a game where something like that happens.
All that said, the vibe is cool! Try turning down the volume on the game over sound! 😂 I like what you made a lot, just needs a bit of polish. Nice job!
Oh, now I get it. I should bounce it, right? I exploded a few times before figuring it out. I love how clear and easy to understand the beginning of the game is. It creates tension naturally. Great job!
I like the art and the atmosphere. Pushing the cart gave me a bit of a challenge. It feels like the background and the platforms blend together, which makes things a little more difficult.
In the beginning I was a bit stuck at first. I thought there was no way out, and I did not really realize there was a small puzzle to be solved. Eventually I got out though and had quite a bit of fun! It took me longer than a minute for sure, because I kept dying >.
The concept of being trapped in an unstable nuclear facility with only a minute to spare creates such high tension! The simple platforming paired with that ticking clock makes the escape feel genuinely frantic. Really enjoyed the feeling of rushing through the old plant environment.
Oh damn, I finally managed to escape out with 1 sec left. Basically good 2d puzzle game. Leally liked how the cart springs downward a little bit when you jump onto it. Nice visuals and background parralax visible through windows. The only issue I saw the defeat sound is a bit loud, and it gave me a scare :)
