>>>PLAY ON ITCH<<<

How to Play

Each shift has an earnings target. Answer calls, connect the right pair, and finish before time runs out.

1. Click a free line button (1–3).
2. Drag plug A into the blinking jack.
3. Click the phone to hear the caller's destination.
4. If they give a surname, find the jack in the directory with TAB.
5. Drag plug B into the destination jack. When the call ends, unplug both plugs.

If every lamp blinks, clean the line with the oscilloscope. Refuse bad calls, and choose carefully when a caller offers a bribe.

Controls

- Left click / drag — interact, move plugs, turn scope knobs
- Line buttons 1–3 — select a pair
- TAB — directory
- Pause icon — volume, language, restart

Five nights. Three lines. One switchboard.

You are the night operator on an old city exchange. Answer strangers, trace surnames through a paper directory, patch the right jacks, and clear noisy lines on the oscilloscope.

Every shift has a quota. Mistakes, missed calls and bad connections cost you; too many bribes and suspicion catches up. Decide what your conscience is worth before the night is over.

Features

- Five shifts with rising pressure
- Physical cord patching and directory lookups
- Oscilloscope noise puzzles
- Bribes, refusals and a police line
- Multiple endings; English and Russian

The game looks really good! I just think a quick tutorial at the beginning would help. I had a little trouble understanding how to play with the in game tutorial.

Really cool concept! I love the atmosphere and the old-school switchboard mechanics. The visuals and sound design work really well together and make the game feel immersive. It took me a little while to figure out the controls, but once I got the hang of it, it was really fun. Great work!

Very simple yet addictive gameplay. The game feels very cohesive and complete—great stuff!

Quite educational! I've only ever seen a telephone switchboard like this in the movie *Changeling* with Angelina Jolie. I got confused pretty quickly, though! Operating an old telephone switchboard is a perfect fit for the Old Tech theme. Love the art style, and the optimization is excellent. Great job!

The theme is good, and it’s not boring to play. The graphics are pleasing.

@kremlebot

Nice concept and execution, with a really satisfying tactile feel. Things get pretty intense toward the end!

Yes, perhaps the difficulty ramps up a bit too quickly, and maybe the mechanics are described a little unclearly, but the immersion in the theme turned out great — the game really pulls you in.

The process of manually routing calls by navigating the directory and completing the circuit feels incredibly immersive. It truly captures the intense precision required when operating a vintage switchboard. Fantastic job bringing this detailed concept to life!

Very good implementation of this idea with calls, with white pages, fun to play when you got into it, challenging, and meditative (but only at first shifts xD - then it becomes challenging and it is good) Very good point and click entry

i had only 1/3 suspicious but got fired anyway :( I love the concept, the visual style, the idea. Great game, i think it has strong potential. It was a bit difficult to turn the knobs on the oscilloscope.

I've played a few games with similar mechanics in this jam, but I think yours feels the best out of all of them.

As others have mentioned, there's a bit of a difficulty spike around levels 4–5, but that's a minor issue. It's understandable for a game jam version.

If you decide to keep working on this project, I'd personally suggest not focusing too much on the speed and volume of incoming calls. Except for occasional special events, like a disaster in the city that suddenly makes everyone call each other at once.
Personally, I think a slower-paced gameplay style could work better here. You could add more little puzzles and maybe an overarching mystery or detective story. For example, the operator accidentally overhears a strange conversation and gets drawn into some mysterious case...

Anyway, I think there are still plenty of interesting things you could do with this idea!

Cool polished concept. Graphics is really nice, liked the woobling of the coords.
I think the progression could be a little bit slower.
Good job!
