It has simple, crisp gameplay. The art is nice, I like the dithering.

Really cute concept! I liked when the skeletons said "wdalduwhal"

Really great concept! I should try to play with a numpad and see if I can do better. The art and sounds work well together. And the gameplay/input works well. Great job!

I wasn't expecting as much nostalgia as I felt from fumbling with the flip phone lmao. The little extra tactics that the special skeletons add in really made it a lot fun and I liked the feeling of always keeping an eye out for them especially to save myself whenever the normal zombies were starting to overwhelm. This game definitely made me feel the most locked in from all the jam games I've tried out so far!!!

I really liked the concept, but man, is it tough! A flip phone with a keypad isn't very intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, it’s fine! Well done !

Love the feeling of flipping through the numbers trying to get the one I want and then having to go back because I hit a wrong key or clicked one too many times. Art is nice and the phone sounds are satisfying but the enemy noises were quite annoying. Id love to play this on an actual phone, it would be a lot of fun, nice job ^^

@whalejam Yeah I was struggling to find the right balance of Skeleton noises and unfinished silence. I'm glad you liked the game though :)

This really took me back. Loved all the old slang! I wish numpad could have been used as those keys are not staggered on the keyboard like left side of the keyboard.

@samuli yeah I might pop back in and update the controls. I did 90% of my testing on mouse. Appreciate the feedback thankyou

The combination of high-stakes night survival and the retro flip phone input gives this game a really unique tension. It's awesome to see the core gameplay perfectly paired with such a specific vintage aesthetic.

The game itself is really fun and enjoyable. I especially liked the art style, the visuals look great and create a nice atmosphere. However, at the beginning, it's not very clear what you're supposed to do or what the main objective is. After playing for a while, the mechanics become easier to understand, but adding a short tutorial or some hints would make the experience better for new players. Also, the constantly repeating zombie sounds get a little annoying over time. Adding more variety to the sound effects would make the audio feel less repetitive.

Gave me some good old nostalgia, I think the controls was fine with the mouse, especially brought back the im fumbeling around with the keys as a child.

Every now and then I beamed down like the closest few skeletons, and I already halfway typed in one of their words, that was a bit frustrating, but thats all the negatives I could find, its a very solid entry.

reat visuals, I love the pixels, and the gameplay is so old-tech.

would have loved to be able to use my numpad to control the keys - with mouse it worked okay but missed out on some authentic feeling. otherwise very nicely done ! been a while since i had to think about this kind of typing ^^

I thought your game was really cool! A very interesting and creative concept.

I lived through the era when we typed on mobile phones this way, and I’m clearly a bit rusty. I never imagined I’d have to use that method again—let alone during an apocalypse!

The gameplay is quite simple, yet very clear. At times, I felt like the words would pile up, causing me to lose control—especially when a skeleton is defeated by a power-up, but the word I was in the middle of typing doesn’t disappear. Is that a bug, or is it intentional?

The game’s art is lovely and functional; it’s always easy to tell what’s happening and what I need to do. Occasionally, the "words" overlap, making it impossible to read what’s underneath—that can be a bit of an issue at times.

The sound design is good, but it could really use some music—something to flesh out the atmosphere. Even a short, looping track would be better than nothing, in my opinion.

This was a great take on the theme! I’ll definitely come back later to try the "survivor" mode.

What game served as your inspiration?

Congratulations!

This one really reminds me of Textorcist, and I mean that in a good way: you type in the words shown above the skeletons on a keypad phone to kill them and survive for a while. I like that there are three skeleton types, fire, ice and regular, with fire being a laser on the three nearest ones and ice being a stun and slow on all of them. Honestly, it's a fun and well-made clicker, I just wish there was a bit more variety to keep me coming back. Really nice work, and I'm curious to see where it goes next!
