It's the Zombie Apocalypse and you are doing pretty well. You've got several heavy duty turrets that keep those rotting walkers at bay. But wait! Some idiot has taken all the chips and bolts out of the computer that controls the turrets and all you have are some old medieval swords to defend yourself. You must find them and repair the computer or you're toast.
Funny setup: your fancy turrets are useless because someone pulled the chips out, so you're back to medieval swords. The pixel art is clean and readable. I lost very fast though, the zombies reached me before I understood which items to grab and where the computer was, so a few calm seconds at the start or an arrow pointing to the first part would really help newcomers. Fun twist on the theme!
This is pretty good fun. I found it quite hard having to switch items and threw my sword away a couple of times by mistake. Alas I never did get the turrets back online, and the zombie horde kept overwhelming me. Bonus points for the elephant in the room. Good stuff 🎱
Loving it! 😆 The zombies look so depressed. Only being able to hold a single object really made it a challenge at times, especially when the amount of zombies started to ramp up. Great idea. Easy to understand, hard to master 👌
Cool! so many zombies on your itch page. Awesome! → zombies come in a swarm → died clutching a precious chip. Interesting to play and it is just so tempting when I saw chips and have to give up my weapons for it. Easy to hop on board and play, but might need some more practice to fully learn how to fight all the zombies. Nice zombie art and I like how they dissolve after dying *smile
Cool short game, found out it is easier to just rush for the turrets components to win the game. At first was also having a somewhat hard time with items holding, dropping the sword when going for another item. Maybe if there is a slot available, item picked up goes in this slot?
The idea of having massive automated turrets fail and then being forced into close-quarters melee combat was a really unique twist. That sudden shift from high-tech defense to surviving with just a medieval sword created a strong sense of desperation.
A nice game, got a few points to share that are maybe worth to think about:
Sprites are nice, tho some animation while moving would've been cool.
Overall gameplay felt a bit hard because the zombies can just annihilate you instantly because they can all hit at the same time - maybe a small invulnerable time after a hit would help to make the game feel more fair.
I also changed my sword a few times for other items and was screwed then, would've helped a lot if collecting items while having an open spot would put the item in the open spot, especially since you probably always want the sword in your hand to get rid of those zombies x)
None the less, i encountered no bugs what so ever, everything worked and after getting into the kinks of the gameplay it felt reasonable hard to play. The elephant looked a bit more out of place than everything else, but i guess for 'the elephant in the room' that is more than perfekt - so overall a really nice entry!
I struggled but still - this was a fun entry... something different from the others I have tried. Good job .. easy to understand and everything worked as expected.
Quite the challenge! At first I was thinking, do the controls really need to be this complex? One keyboard button to pick up an item, one on the mouse to switch etc. I was thinking maybe it would be better if you pick up items automatically or be able to click to pick them up. But the more played I feel like it adds to the challenge and more satisfying once you learn to juggle the controls amid the chaos. I also thought you would need to get every item to repair the turrets so it really wasn't too hard and pretty satisfying once they turend on.
Hi, really enjoyed the game, makes you wanna start after fail to get the win. Made it in 3 tries. Graphics are very good, animations of death (especially yours) are very juicy. Also enjo the panic of picking up items and throwing away the sword. Wish it had some sick sound and music. Great job!
