My friend Ben Taylor and I wanted to learn how to write things in C++, and I wanted to finally finish a game for a Ludum Dare event, so we teamed up and made a game / piece of music / loose homage to Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Stimmung" / invitation for groups of bored friends to goof off and make silly sounds.
It's probably best if played by a group of people, with each running a copy of their own "score."
I had the same problem and the install procedure from cygwin.com was scary. I don't mind downloading an emulator, but I had to jump through so many hoops I didn't understand and the bit about automatic updates. . . Aah, it's a shame because it sounds interesting.
