Helsings Hunt- A stab in the dark

Helsing is hunting for vampires. At night!
Because they are black they cannot be seen.
You have to wait for lightning to illuminate them so you know when they will reach you.

Time your attack right! You only get one chance for each vampire!

This game is made in Assembly for the Commodore 64 using 'C64 Program Generator' as cross assembler and Excel for designing the graphics.
You have to use an emulator to run the .prg file.
Or run the embedded Java emulator in the link provided (it's an excellent emulator, but the sound isn't perfect).

They work for most platforms.

It also works on a real Commodore 64, but you will have to transfer the file to a Floppy somehow.
This week I will try to make a gameplay video on a real C64.

Oh, and I'm sorry about the music. It will get out of your head after a few weeks (I hope).

Wow, great job. Feels like genuine C64 game. But controls seem very unresponsive at the times. Could be java fault though.

Great idea with the invisible vampires! very enjoyable. Btw the web-based emulator wouldn't work correctly here, so I ran it with VICE for linux.

Yes, the webbased emulator works with Java, which is always a bit of hit and miss.
Luckily Vice works on Mac, Linux and PC.

Oh God... I LOVED this game! Both the gameplay and the concept is perfect. I seriously want to make a mobile version of this game.

How this game would be better;
* It's hard to press "s" and "r" seperately each time we die. Only space button could be used to be more convenient.

* Sometimes we are killed by vampires who were never revealed.

* A visual input about "You can't use stake now" would be good.

To be honest, I had just the spacebar but couldn't get the keyboardbuffer to clear. The game would start and you would immediately stab.

But thank you for all the compliments, watch out the next installment Helsings's hunt-the Yeti in a snowstorm.
