It's not the bacon's fault. It's random. I realize the 50% hit chance can be pretty tough in the beginning. Maybe I should raise that to 60 or something :)

I like it. Only thing I don't get is why the inventory didn't worked the first time I found it. I actually wasn't even able to close it, even if it's just pressing ANY key. Can't give any more details, maybe I pressed a random key...
Anything else, I enjoyed it a lot. I played two consecutive times, last one being the longest run, where I died at the paws of a smelly badger. Heh. I first thought it was Beef.
