Oh no. The fish is going to die... Save it! It's basically a "Simon says" game, do the right action in order but only if the fish ask it. Don't forget the previous actions and repeat everything correctly to save the fish.
*
*Game only playable with mouse and keyboard. Some issues? Do you want to play the FULL HD (deluxe) game version? Just download the standalone version!*
Well, I won't be able to sleep at night (from laughter, not because I didn't save some fish), but I agree that this game was made with love... and clay
Nice game! Liked the variety of possible actions. Graphics look nice. Liked the humour ("Fish died and it's all your fault, hope you sleep well"). Overall a fun simon says game to spend a few minutes on, good job! :)
This game had me smiling the entire time. I simply love it. Everything goes so well together, the art, the sound, the bossy fish. Thoroughly enjoyed playing it.
Very good! Reminds me of early Russell Honor games with the very intense nature of it, and that's high praise. The concept is simple, and just a game of Simon Says, but it's executed in a funny and compelling way. The sound effects and extreme animations really make every action you do (except for pressing a key, but that's a small nitpick) feel like a BIG action, which just makes this fun to play with. The stunted, third person presentation, the fact that you made me press quit... it leads to a memorable experience. It might be a repackaged version of a classic game without much changed, but the fact that I played it as long as I did despite that fact is a testament to the quality of the work. Nice job.
I really like memory games, the first game I ever coded was Simon back in Java lol. This game is super hard though because there's much more variety in here and a bit less memory queues you can use. Your game has great art direction and I'm surprised this is your first LD game given this level of polish. Great job!
Haha this one was very unique to say the least. Interesting visuals and (screeching) audio, gameplay equally bizarre and memorable. I'll admit obeying fish commands is a first as far as theme interpretation goes - as far as I know - so definite points for that. Quite a humorous and well-executed take on the memory game genre!
@noirdrive@saucygames Yes you're right, gameplay can make you mad in a way but we're so happy that you enjoyed it!
@dreamcastgh0st Wow! Thank you for your comment and your analysis! When we released the game we didn't think people enjoy the game like this! But you're right, need some game feel on "key pressing". So happy that you have fun playing it, that's basically why we want to create games :)
@peachtreeoath Yes the game is very hard definitely! That's right it's our first LD but we really want to make something juicy, we're glad that you feel it playing the game! Thanks :)
While brainstorming for the theme, one of my first ideas was "Fish out of water" but I had no clue how to turn it into a game. Seems you figured it out! :) And I liked playing it! Funny game with great artistic design!
BTW, had one minor issue (Windows version) - the input sometimes didn't register if I clicked too fast.
@arzi Haha I don't know, maybe because it's going to die! Thanks for playing by the way  Thank you @naamed, really happy that you enjoy this experience haha @stanleygray It's just one solution turn it into a game, there are more solutions for sure! Thank you for your feedback, we'll check this to correct that issue :) @mrowka Thanks! No problem, you're not the only one who has some trouble to understand the game, we don't gave enough clues to understand quickly! Not your fault :) @littlemiky Thank you so much !
Woow Thanks! We were not ready for all these good comments! @ttyana Yes that would be terrible for you haha @pke1029 The animation was the tricky part and we spent lot of time to have something juicy! It's a mix between ragdoll (character joints in unity) with tiny physics explosions and blend shapes to have some mesh deformations. The challenge was to have a good result blending 3D skeleton, mesh deformations and physics but finally... It works
Really funny game ! The design of the Fish, the hilarious audio, the satsifying interactions... It might be presumptuous, but I think you had a tremendous amount of fun making this game ! And I had an awesome time playing it, so all's good.
Strengths : - Self-explanatory gameplay, consistent with the theme and with a great game feel - Visuals and audio superbly contribute to the fun
Possible improvements : - Maybe allow the player to restart with a level of similar difficulty instead of sending him back to lvl 1.
Such an artistically impressive game! The sound design really ramped up the absurdity of it all. I enjoyed this a lot, but the screen space could have been put to use by having the fish be bigger. I ended up a few of my longer runs by misclicking what I thought SHOULD have been the body but ended up being the head. :(
A really solid entry, and I can't wait to see what you make next!
@jlv Simon Says is a sequence game, so you can't start at the end ;)
@jlv you're right we had a lot of fun making this game. Thank your for your feedbacks, we're thinking how to improve the game to make a post jam version.
Thank you all of you, we have spend a long time to make nice graphics coupled with sound, so we're very happy to know that you love it.
Love the animations when I'm clicking the fish, its hilarious! The visuals for the game is really nice and the sound effects fit really well. Had a lot of fun playing the game even though the fish keeps dying cause of my poor memory XD
This is such a unique idea, I love it! :two_hearts: The ingame graphics look really nice and I like that you added some chromatic aberration around the borders! The design and typography on the slides look super professional to me, it balances everything out nicely. Also, I ADORE the sound effects! Great job :star:
That was funny. I like how you randomise the actions. I got to round 4, but it closed the instructions before I had time to read all of it. Some instruction were also a bit unclear, like "fish says hold" hold what? Also, sometimes "fish says click", but then it only works if I click on the fish. Overall, pretty good game.
This game has brilliant graphics! Fun to play and innovative! The visuals when you lose are funny and the sound is funny too. I enjoyed playing it, nice game for a jam, well done!
@mika-la-grand, @thekingbarry thank you for your constructive feedback. We hesitated during a long time to make instructions more clear, but we have chosen to encourage players to click on fish, making the action very juicy. And so, players discover the right action by their-self. But still, the game deserves lot of improvements to make it more clear. That's why we want to spend more time on the game development.
Thank you everyone, you're making this community awesome !
This was so good. While some are saying the confusing instructions and speed were too much, I think that's what gives the game such originality. Players gotta step up to the challenge. I also loved the game over feedback, that helped players want to try again. Loved it.
i loved the graphics! but the instructions were sometimes really unclear for me. for instance sometimes it said to "click and hold", what i did and the fish died saying that i did the hold, but not the click. but it looks so fun i might give it a try again.
It was horrible and feeling bad and... and... and I love it ! Ok, seriously, the visual is really good looking and the "animation" is really fun ! The overall idea fit really well with the execution (it's easy to understand but hard to master, but fun to fail !) I really like it
@griet Thanks for feedback, it's helpful for us to know what we have to improve in priority! Sorry for this problems, the game is not clear at some points and we'll solve it soon. @noamraz Thanks for reporting we'll figure it out! Really, thank you for all these positive vibes everyone, that encourages us to improve "Save the Fish" and work on new games
It took a while for me to notice the bulging eyes on Fish, but I instantly burst out laughing when I did! The sound effects are great overall, but I would have liked more fish-like sound effect for the 'game over' sound instead of a screaming.. uhm.. something? :D I guess it could be deliberate too, but the list of previous actions could be shortened by just showing the actions w/o Fish says at some point? It'll be hard enough at that point keeping track of it :p All in all a very fun game to play (and to compete with someone on how far they can get)! Great mood, great game!
Omg, that was hilarious :D I died laughing! But it took me a while to notice that the instructions are written on top as well. Looks like the fish is smarter than me hahah
@evert Really happy that the fish and sounds effects make you laugh like this! But yes, you're right, we can add some variations on the "game over" sound, that would be less repetitive. It could be but in the rules, if there isn't the "fish says" before action, you must not do it, because... The fish didn't ask you, right? @valisse21 don't worry, not your fault, we have to make this game more clear to be sure that people notice all essential informations like this. If you enjoyed the game, that's the essential! Anyway thanks everyone for playing and feedback :)
Loved the look and feel of the game. So far the only game that I have stumbled across that has to do with squidging a fish to try and save it! Great job!
This Is great, I had no idea what I was getting into, but what is was was amazing. Simple simon say, yet so full of life and personality! loved the fish, it failed to make me feel bad but it did make me laugh! I learned I'm surprisingly bad at following instructions or remembering them. Though I think I faced a bug because one time when I got in the groove I failed by pressing what (I think) was the right button. but the fish said I was supposed to do nothing! (which makes no sense because it wasn't the lastest round and I clearly never had to do "nothing" before; thats a memorable act in itself)
Still, game was so fun and silly I couldn't tell, if it was my bad, the game bugging or the fish trolling. Great game loved it!
Pretty fun game! I like how you break the fourth wall with the exit/mute/etc. Cute art too. I wish there was a little more to it than simon says. Great work!
Weirdly fun and funny game :D I enjoyed playing it. Sometimes my clicks didn't register correctly, but it's really not too bad. The sounds and graphics are on point. But I wonder why that fish wants me to do such things to him :D Well done, great game!
Such a silly take on the theme, but I have to love it. It's great that you guys play with the UI of the game too, and get it included. It's always fun to surprise the audience, and you guys definitely did. :joy:
The funniest jam game I've played so far! Took a few attempts to get the hang of it, and especially in the later rounds it became insanely hard to read and memorize the sequence, but that's all part of the fun!
This is probably the funniest and hardest game in ld46. I had a lot of fun playing, but it does get hard really quick. Maybe it would be good to have three lives per round so if you make a mistake you don't die instantly.
I wasn't real clear on what to do at first in order to get past the first round, but I eventually figured it out. My one point of feedback is that the fish should be called "Simon" lol. Nice game
This is a weirdly satisfying game with great audio and art. Maybe add another mechanic to keep the player interested. You should have titled this one Fish Slapper.
1 - Mechanics, Learning and Flow: The mechanics of following the sequence of the previous stage, but adding a new layer. Learning was not much work for me, because with each attempt we have visual feedback of what we try to do, in addition to a text explaining (I believe in some moments with errors) what we did wrong. The flow escalates very fast (at least for me), it makes me much more anxious than bored (I really didn't feel bored at all, and I want to return to see if I can get past the fifth "layer").
2 - Graphics, Audio, Narrative and Polishment: The graphics were really fun. The audio very funny. The narrative is not the focus here. Polishing can always be done, but I haven't really found anything to point out (considering Ludum Dare's time).
3 - Culture: As it was mentioned that the game genre alluded to another previous game, I believe that it takes sides by increasing the number of game pieces derived from the previous one. The game doesn't make much sense from the point of view of saving a fish (I didn't expect that, I just laughed a lot with all this, hahahahahah).
4 - Monetization: I don't know how much the game could be sold, assuming it was just a stage (until now).
Definitely very funny and has a lot of "juice." The graphics are awesome, from the UI design (which feels like a Jackbox game) to the fish animations / reactions (which feels like an oldschool cartoon.
@qfrct@a333 Quit button issue is now resolved for the webGL version! @gustavo-christino Thanks for your feedback and your analysis! You're right, we just wanted to create a game for playing. Our choices don't have any sense for the narrative aspect because this game is only about "having fun" and "laughing". 30 seconds or 10 minutes where you just forget everything and you listen to this fish  For the monetization part, we'll see, maybe a free mobile game or something else, we don't know, it's too soon for now to decide. It's hard for us to answer to all comments but, THANK YOU everyone for supporting us!
everything about this game fits the concept super well - it's just really well put together overall, i enjoyed the little bit i played of it! however, sometimes my clicks do get eaten up, but idk if that's the game or if it's on my side
Sad to says, but I think lot of fish are died because of our game
@molpe thank you for sharing your video
@james-kusardi it could be the game, cause sometimes Unity colliders have strange behaviour and fail to detect click. I can't tell for sure. Hope that doesn't spoil the game.
Wow I was not ready for this haha. A very funny game that reminds me of alcohol games. Very well made, juicy gameplay(ad fish) I love it! Great entry guys ;)
This is a really unique entry, strange and addictive. It is really stressful after level 5, my brain can't keep the fish alive after that point. I found all of the sound effects to be specially awesome, they go well with the wacky visual effects of the fish being squished. But I killed fish... how will I sleep now
Wow!! This game is super fun. I love the sound effects and graphics. When you do something, the fishes reaction is unbearably funny. That makes me laugh so much :). Also when you spam different buttons and click a bunch of times, all the sound effects combine and make an really cool song. Overall, I LOVE this game!!!
This game is amazing. The graphics blew me away. The 3D model of the fish was absolutely amazing. Also I love the sound effects. It is so funny when the fish dies. Overall great game. It gives me a vibe of the fish game, "I am fish", which is like the game, "I am toast", as in those games you had to save yourself and there were difficult controls making it a little rage inducing. The difficult controls are part of the game. Just like those difficult controls it is hard to remember the sequence in this game.
Fun game... I really liked the sound, thought it fit really well. Feel like the game cheated a bit, sometimes I would lose even though I did the right thing. Fish said nothing? Stoopid fish.
@simon-rahnasto Thanks for your comment! You're right this is very hard memory game but we're happy that you enjoyed the game! But if you want to sleep now... You have to save more fishes
@unimaginable-code-studios Thank you! So nice to read that you like the stupid interaction with the fish, we spent lot of time to make it juicy and you feel it, that's the best compliment!
@g-a-gamestudio we haven't made the connection with "I am toast" game and our game before... That's true there are similarities between both, that's interesting. Thanks for your feedback, so happy that you laughed saving the fish :)
Well thanks everyone for all your good comments! So happy that you enjoy playing the game and you share it
I love the art and the graphics of this game. The UI is clean and makes the game look really cool. Overall its a really nice experience and I enjoyed it.
I love the main aesthetic and sounds. Colors are gorgeous - a beautiful palette. The way you manage drums is amazing. I have to do that next time. The main gameplay fits with the theme and reminds me a little popular game for kids where I live in France - Jacques a dit (...) You deserve good ratings. I had fun playing. Thank you ++
@geckoo1337 Thanks for feedback! (Ouais "le Jacques a dit" on connait très bien  ) You're right, "Jacques a dit" bring this rule where you have to do it only if "Jacques" ask you, that's basically the same for the fish. Thanks for helping and supporting everyone, all your comment really encourage us!
I loved the colour palette, and the wonderfully squishy fish eyes. Something that I found a bit frustrating was the down time between rounds. The 'Fish Saved, Next Round x' screen felt like it could have been incorporated into the main game screen for better flow.
Other than that, well done on such a fun experience.
That was a fun game. I played the Moron Test just a few days ago and this felt very similar. I struggled to read the instructions fast enough (I read SLOWly), but overall a cool game. Loved the sound effects and goofyness of the fish.
I've played quite a fair amount of game entries for Ludum Dare 46, but this is the first game I rated an overall score of a perfect 5... a game about saving a fish in a completely nonsensical way... Lord help me.
Nonetheless, the game was funny, it was challenging for someone with terrible memory like mine, it was simple to understand, and I loved the incredibly odd animations. My only critique is that clicking the fish on his "upper body" would still be considered his head, which made me a sad fish, sometimes D: But other than that, the game was awesome!
What a perfectly dorky game haha! The art was superb and the sounds were quirky. I'm assuming that the fish was a bunch of blendshapes- that's slick! How do you expect me to sleep at night though?
Ahah, it's amazing! No game with LD46 has ever made me feel as good as yours. Really good job! I especially liked the way you did the fish squeezing animation - it's really fun :) I also want to note the sound after death-fast zombies from HL2 perfectly fit into the setting of the game. But I think that by level 5-6 it becomes too difficult to play and it is not very good. However, it is not necessary to increase the difficulty at each subsequent level. But still well done!
i have nightmare of this fish! ahaha, realy like this stange mood and this fish screaming when i loose, like the art style too, really really simple idea but executed in a really funy way, its a good entry, goodjob!
Well I absolutely love this! Not only does it involve saving fish, just like my entry, it is also very funny and fun. It also difficult and quite the memory exercise. Fantastic game, really loved it!
This is seriously one of my favorite entries. I absolutely love this game. I laugh every time I see his head get squished and his eyes bulge. The mechanics are fun and satisfying. I love the art and UI as well. Fantastic work!!! :smile_cat:
A very funny game, I liked the graphics and the "command" to advance mechanic, but the text was a bit too fast to read for me. The sound and atmosphere works well with the game and the "Wilhelm Scream" was a nice touch. After a couple of times i managed to make it work, but it felt repetitive after a while.
Hey, congrats for the entry. Had some trouble with the inputs, some times a click is interpreted as an hold and a keyboard letter as an mouse click... I played the HTML 5!
Had a lot of fun. That squeeze, daaamn  Really liked your version of the classic. It's simple yet challenging, works perfectly, has infinite replayability... Superb. Lost at round 9, my brain got too slow for the countdown - sleep-deprivation, my fault.
PS : uncheck "Fullscreen button" in the itch.io Embed frame options, it adds a non-working one on top of the integrated WebGL build one.
A very funny game. Love the color theme and how you guys use the UI as part of the gameplay. Very innovative and well executed game overall! (EDIT: Did not see it is done by one person, even more impressive )
Thank you all for your comments  We're really happy that you enjoyed the game and you laughed playing it. @danilo-freire thanks for reporting, we'll figure it out! @jmad really happy that you had fun! Okay thanks for reporting this, we'll check this for the next update. @flynn Thanks for playing :) Actually we are team of two brothers working on this game!

Thanks for your feedback, we're glad that you laughed playing the game!
By the way game is very gooood.
@noirdrive @saucygames Yes you're right, gameplay can make you mad in a way but we're so happy that you enjoyed it!

Love the idea and the art! Great work!
BTW, had one minor issue (Windows version) - the input sometimes didn't register if I clicked too fast.
Maybe I'm just dumb, great work!
Thank you @naamed, really happy that you enjoy this experience haha

Fish saved!
didn't really bother me though. I had great fun playing =)

@joh Maybe there is a bug that we don't know, no code is perfect, specially game jam code
Very fun game, well done !
@sndr glad you like play with the UI, we think about adding more interesting actions.
Thank you everyone to say that's polished game. Keep sharing your feelings, all yours feedback matters.
Sorry for all these deaths because of my dumbness, sob.
But what about "Fish says Quit"?! (What I did, but error in the browser (Brave))
Thanks for the fun, guys. : )
Keep it up.
Vamos tentar novamente...
Calm down, fish.
Let's try again...

Thanks a lot for this game!
reached level 9 (╬▔皿▔)╯
great humor and I like that you used the UI for instructions too, kind of felt like the fish was trolling me (︶^︶)
Thank you everyone ! There are so many of you that try our game and comment, it's crazy !

This game was super fun to play btw .. loved the effects when u squeeze the fish LOL
I feel a little sad for the fish ;-P
