What the Firetruck!?
Play as a fire truck in a fire mayhem! You have 2 minutes to keep the city alive and prevent as many people from dying as possible. Put out fires, send people to rescue helicopters, and avoid car accidents to prevent the fire from spreading...
CONTROLS
- Move - WASD
- Shoot Water - Arrow Keys
- Dual-stick controller supported!
TIPS
- You need to refill water every now and then! Just move next to a fire hydrant
- People need to be rescued - touch them to pick them up, then move under the helicopter to send them to safety
- Your truck moves slower when carrying more people
- Sometimes, car drivers will not be nice!

The art is amazing, the game is really fun too!
A few more levels would have been nice, but understand the restrictions of LD.

Your game is very fun and well-made! It is fun. Music is good. Gameplay is smooth and overall the game feels very polished for a 2 day jam.
If you decide to develop this idea further here is some feedback:
1. The goal is not very clear from the start. Would it be more beneficial to put down some fires or rather deliver more people to helicopters?
2. Controlling the water with a keyboard is harder than with a gamepad.
3. Would be nice to have some mini-map or pointers to the nearest fire. Currently it is not clear enough what the player should focus on.
Overall, it's a great game! You should have more ratings =)

Great game! It's cute, it's fun and the ensuing chaos is hilarious.
The beginning seems a bit slow, unless you force cars to crash into buildings. But I can imagine it being hard to balance seeing how quickly it becomes chaotic in the later half of the time.
Reaching some of the survivors is also quite hard when they're between buildings that are close to each other. It could be nice to have them head towards the firetruck if you're close enough.
Also, I loved the main menu mixed in as a short tutorial, it's perfect!

Great game, runs smoothly and with a level of polish and execution I don't expect from the hundreds of half-baked unity entries out there! :D
Not sure if my little firetruck was more helpful or hurtful to the city at large...It sure was fun, though! The music really fits the vibe too.
Probably the most wanted quality of life improvement I'd like is an indicator on the edge of the screen for off-screen fires, and more importantly, for the position of the rescue helicopter :)

Fun take on the twin-stick shooter! The graphics are very cute and the movement is satisfying, it feels nice and polished. Music is great too and fits the mood well.
I didn't really know when I was doing well or bad in that I felt like I could almost always just put out fires and save people pretty quickly - perhaps if you burned up and respawned and lost some seconds if your fire truck got too damaged that would add more incentive and feedback on playing well?

loved this game! I love that the "tutorial" is so short and you get the gameplay immediately. This game reminds me of my life and hit way too close to home... Always trying to help and making things MUCH MUCH worse. The Ghosts on dying reminded me of all my dead tamogachis... otherwise Great job!

very fun concept, i like how the report text adapts to the stats
for completion's sake, i tried with keyboard as well. while it is more restrictive, it's not a problem in the game, i even got a better score than with a joystick.

This game was ridiculously fun game. The fire's ability to spread and expand extremely fast is super cool, and it's super fun when cars swerve at you. I really loved this game. Also, I loved how if you don't pick up the bombs, it makes a big explosion. This was a great game.

wow I am so sad not many people have played this amazing game. Most games after I play I'm like ok I'm done, that was cool. But this game I actually played several times just b/c it was so fun.
I love the cute art style and the bouncyness when you hit the buildings and such. Also thought the gameplay mechanics were really good. You were frantically running around trying to put out fires, but then you gotta save the people and then take them to the helicopter, but also have to manage your water. It sounds like a lot of things to keep track of, but it all just flows together for a very nice gameplay loop.
I loved the little touches how when the people got ran over by a car a tombstone popped up. Also the beginning tutorial was simple and effective, I really liked how it was basically the intro screen. The music felt like it fit the game and the sound effects were cute too.
About the only thing I can think of was that while you hear the initial crashes you can assume there is a fire but if you miss that you might not realize there is a fire. I dunno if burning sounds would of helped this or some visual indicator (maybe an animating flame icon in the hud, or directional arrows to the fires). The map is somewhat small so it's not a huge deal b/c you just drive around the city and if you hear a crash find the fire.
The only real issue I had was not major, but I was trying to rescue some guys and they went into the bottom collision barrior so I couldn't get them, but eventually they left it and I was able to pick them up

This is excellent... graphics are great, and I love the little touches like bouncing off the buildings, etc. Gameplay was really fun... though I also quite enjoyed the emergant gameplay - e.g. LET'S CAUSE UTTER DESTRUCTION!!

This has such nice game-feel. Really juicey! I really love the way that objects bump/move in general. The gameplay was amusing and I had a lot of fun through the havoc of it all. I really liked collecting people choplifter-style, with all the little sound pings and nice feedback. Great game!

This felt really fun to play; the whole physics and control, the feedback when bumping into buildings and cars, and the spray of the water all scream "CUTE!". You could potentially expand this into a much bigger game, possibly doing other emergencies other than fire?

This game has a great feel and I really enjoyed playing it. Apparently I am a terrible fireman. I do wish there was some way to know where the fires were if they are not currently in view. If there was a fire on the opposite side of the map it was difficult for me to realize in time to save anyone. The way the destruction can pile up over time is great and the amount of details is impressive for a jam game.

20 ratings woohooow!!! Hahaha I really enjoyed this game , it looked funny the music was nice, everything fit a quite silly atmosphere. The mechanics of putting out fires was fun although I also enjoyed seeing things burn ;) Putting in car accidents, letting fires spread, rescuing people, having to get water were a lot of interesting mechanics which i didn't expect to be implemented in a jam. The sound of the water did become annoying after a while that's the one thing I can say remotely bad. Great game it felt very polished and everything worked perfectly together.

This is outright a legit full tiny game.

But game's chaotic nature ruins all these plans, which is, probably the point.

This is fantastic! One of my favourites so far! It's super hard so would have appreciated a minimap so i could catch the fires early. Also those other drivers are insane and want to die

I had fun, nice job! I feel like I caused more fires than I initially put out, and it's funny people are willing to be rescued after I either made them crash or they intentionally drove into me. Really nice art and music. I was also expecting perhaps some screen edge ui telling me where the fire was, but the map wasn't too big. I wasn't sure how to get more water at first, but then realized as I was playing the fire hydrants give you more water. very cool!

Great game, and also very funny! Altogether very polished, with great attention to graphical detail. The music works well too. I think this game would benefit from achievements/highscores/rankings to keep the player playing.

After several tries, I think the difficulty changes too fast. It is quite easy for the first minute and then quickly turns into chaos, I never got a good score in the end (but maybe I just need more training :p). Overall, it is very fun to play.
