“Deep in the woods, where the moss grows thickest and sun barely reaches the forest floor, there lived two goblins. Button and her wife lead a simple life. Being a humble Mushroom Tender and a Baker, they did not want for much… until the Dark Lord Plonko rose in the west.

His tendril-like influence spread throughout the land. Where once there was peace and simple pleasures, now there was only fear and conflict.

The skills of Button and her wife did not escape the capricious gaze of Plonko. Only having time to grab a few precious keepsakes, they were quickly captured and taken to the Dark Lord’s lair, and forced to grow mushrooms… for evil!”

This was most of the teams first attempt at a Ludum Dare, and for some of us our first stab at game development!

How to Play

-Move around the cavern and click on the soil to plant a mushroom - this will cost fertiliser, so make sure you don't run out!

-Mushrooms can be unstable, and require specific environments to grow! Check the mushroom book to see them

-The features around the cavern provide some environmental effects, mushrooms you grow will further change the environment.

-Once a mushroom is grown, you can harvest it to fulfill the orders of the Dark Lord Plonko, or compost it to get the fertiliser back. Cavern bread will return double the fertiliser!

-The Dark Lord Plonko is an unstable overlord - failing to complete an order in time will incur his wrath and end the game!

Known Issues

Sometimes a crash will occur if the player tries to move while the mushroom menu is open

Some combination of moving and opening UI windows can cause movement controls to no longer respond - this can be fixed by planting a mushroom

The display for environmental metrics can sometimes be inaccurate

The environmental metrics themselves might sometimes be calculated wrong, though this is hard to confirm due to the above bug
