DeePenguin Boreal Offensive

Super charming game! I love the visuals and the music. The buff penguin is fantastic. I noticed that the buffs from the shop don't reset after you lose. Also spam upgrading one type of tower is very powerful, at some point I never saw an enemy again. Fantastic presentation

A charming little tower defense game!

Very charming and with lovely music!
Although it's a bit easy after upgrading the popsicle stand a few times, enemies barely entered the screen anymore

Visual is really impressive and the music is exactly right for the mood which the visual set, good work.

I like the idea that you can move already set up tower, it add a new strategy to the old tower defense genre.

I think it is a great game with a lot space to grow. :)

Things to improve:

- I would make the spot for towers more visible, at least 45 second after the game started for the first time I was a bit confused
- Remove the 3 points to spent based on time, because at lvl 6 I had so much dmg that i barely saw and enemy or make it per tower so the points are more distributed

Area of improvement

- needs a challenge, on wave 2 I bought some upgrades and gone afk, when I came back I was on wave 15
- needs variety, got a bit bored after about 10 clicks
- needs to give player a feeling of importance

Has potential, but needs a bit more work.
I can see that you focused on graphics and music.
The setting of the game is fantastic.
All in all I was not amused by the show-off of art on its own.
The game should be about the player and not about you.

oh so this it took me a while to figure out it was a tower defense type of thing.
this is actually really well implemented.

it seems this bulky dude is not helping much fight the enemies lol

A really good game, but the shop needs a nerf. The style of the game is pretty nice. As other said, after few waves I had so much dmg that I barely saw the enemy. OVerall good game.

I like the color pallete and animations! Would love to see more variety in waves and more challenge during the game.

Fun visuals and setting for a tower defence with throwing pop-sickles. Couple lovable characters like the Penguin Chad, and Dee Penguin. Unfortunately game is heavily unbalanced in favour of the player. After 5 minutes of game you can't lose. Balance is not something unfixable, so don't feel discouraged. Good job :lollipop:

It's a cute game. I had fun playing but then the game progressed by itself. I like the sound and visuals because they are so cute.

The game is super cute and the music is nice, but there's a huge oversight that needs to be addressed. I can just keep upgrading the popsicle stand to the point of absurdity. I reached popsicle stand level 50 before wave 8, and it defeats everything before they even make it on screen. I've never tried making a tower defense, so I don't know how hard it is to balance, but I think a good first step would be to make upgrading the towers cost more and more as you upgrade them. even if just raising the cost by 1 per level. it makes reaching level 10 go from $20 to $65, and level 20 goes from $40 to $230. Of course, you'd need to get rid of the $10 money cap for that to work. All around, it just needs to balance. the game looks and sounds great. Nice work!

Loved the art and the music, especially the varied penguins! But like many others I also broke the game by upgrading the popsicle stands early and destroying all enemies off-screen. In addition to balancing the upgrade prices (like @100th-coin's proposal which I think is a great start) I'd enjoy if the towers were introduced more gradually instead of allowing the player so you couldn't place them all at once at the start.

I like that the waves come on timer and not a button as it allows you to just lean back and watch your penguin towers take care of the enemies :D I think this is a very promising base for a game which would just need some patches to the balance.

The game feels very unbalanced in the current state but I'm sure it's only because it's the jam version!
