Shoot / Build/Upgrade => Spacebar, Left click, or Button (A)
Switch mode => Alt, Right click, or Button (B)

Didn't know it was used by web browsers to focus on the buttons next to the address bar :(
Use your gamepad for the best experience. Otherwise use WASD (or Arrows) with mouse clicks, but know that the mouse cursor itself is not used.
