Story:

You've been invited to attend a fancy party to find... THE KILLER!
Every 10 seconds, the power flickers, and from the shroud of darkness they will strike. It's your task to figure out who the killer is before it is too late!

Controls:

Use the mouse to select a suspect, and to arrest them. Clicking anywhere else will deselect them.

Hints:

The killer will prioritize nearby targets, but will shoot one at random if nobody is nearby. You have three attempts to find the killer, but don't wait too long. If the song reaches the end, it's game over!

Credits:

All graphics were created from scratch using photoshop.

All sound effects, except for the fireplace were made from scratch using Adobe Audition.

Fonts are Magnolia and Calligraphy from 1001 Free Fonts.

Fireplace came from Zapsplat.

Got it on my second try :D that dumba serialkiller killed one guy with a knife but they were completely isolated >:D But seriously, really inventive take on the theme. Also good grief! just cancel the friggin dinner party... -_-

The killer is the butler. Although I didn't manage to guess the killer, I had a good time.

I love the idea! It seems to me an original game, the music is very consistent and cute little critters. Too bad you don't have any more clues, I find it confusing in that aspect.

@dp3rucha We had a lot of fun coming up with the concept! Having the soundtrack synced to the events of the game was a bit of work, but it really paid off!

As for your second comment, I'm not certain I know what you're referring to. Was it the method for finding the killer that you found confusing? Or would you have preferred the killer to leave more trails behind?

It fits nicely with the theme. The graphics need a bit of polish and it might benefit from other clues for deducing the killer other than proximity, or maybe clearer desings for memorizing people around a certain victim. But the controls themselves and gameplay work nicely and the idea is pretty interesting. Nice entry!:)

Nice take on the theme. Too bad there are not real "clues" about finding the killer besides kinda clicking on whoever is not too far from the victim, though.

VERY fun game! Didn't know what was coming when I read the description. First try took me two kills, second one like 10, the little variations in the characters makes it just difficult enough. Loved it!

Loved the concept and execution. Disagree with other comments about other clues and art style, I felt it was just enough to make it work while still making it very interesting. Sure if the game were a full release, there'd need to be more, and there are plenty of ways you can expand on this concept, but for a game jam game I think the idea was realized incredibly well, and was very fun to boot! Good work!
