Well, "Thomas Was Drunk and Alone" wasn't really anything I expected this jam.

It's on the short side, but given how aggressive the effects are this was probably for the better as the game did not overstay its welcome. The platforming felt very snappy, which is near-essential with visuals so impaired. It was a fun novelty executed very well and while frustrating, I never found it unfair.

The visuals and audio are both executed perfectly, though I would have included an audio slider... and the level design of course manages to turn what seems like just a silly gimmick into a genuine challenge without going overboard on the difficulty. This one ended up being a near-perfect five star entry.

Great concept. Your shader was super cool. I thought it was really fun, but quite frustrating. It felt a little punishing that there were no checkpoints, but that's my only complaint. Great job!

The effects were well done, though certainly a bit nauseating. I wasn't really sure what the 30 second timer was trying to accomplish. By the time I got to the hardest jumps, I'd have to just let it run out if I failed. I think maybe a longer timer, or a reset button would've helped this? The presentation was overall really clean though, good job!

it was a lot of fun! for some reason everyone in my chat said the screen looked wonky, but I just thought it looked like a normal Tuesday for me...

jokes aside, the wobbly platforming was something I haven't experienced before, so it was a really interesting twist on the classic platformer!

I love the look of the game, but after a few min I actually got really motion sick.
I guess that is what it would feel like to play game drunk. :grin:

Very innovative mechanics that I really enjoyed playing through. Progressively getting more and more drunk while on such a sharp timer means you really have to master the level in order to beat it. I was a little bit confused as to what finishing the level was at first just because I happened to die right as I reached the portal for the first time, but I think that was on me and not the game.

I also loved the aggresive bright visuals. A unique visual style that really gave the game some flavor.

It'd be interesting to give a little more openess to how to solve each level such that players would need to choose what to do first while mostly sober and what parts of the level can be done later while drunk as a skunk.

I really wanted to beat this one. The visual style is fun and vibrant. Unfortunately, the visual effects made me really nauseous. I'd recommend making a slider for it but it was kinda the whole point of the game so I guess it makes sense to not turn it off. I guess if your goal is to make a drunkeness simulator, then nausea is part of the package! haha. Either way, great job with this entry and making something so polished over the weekend.

I liked the effects :relaxed: Took me quite a while to manage to finish the first level, but I like a challenge!

Very interesting take on a simple platformer. The drunk effect was really well made, even made it a bit nauseous, overall a really fun game. The first long jump felt a bit too hard initially, I found that I had to go closer to the edge than I expected to make the jump, but overall really fun. - Peter

Very nice entry ! Very original, it has a polished look and it certainly was not giving me any reason to grab a bottle of beer right now. Sometimes it did not feel fair, maybe some checkpoints would have been nice. I do appreciate the effort of showing an audience the dangers and difficulties surrounding alcoholism. Nice game, but after I played it everything went wzoop on my eyesight) I like how platformer felt, tho I don't really feel it connected to the theme (I've got the point that every 10 seconds you get more drunk). It was fun and I liked it!)

Control are smooth, the drunk effect is perfect, I have hard time with the first tall platform of first level but after it go like a charm. Crazy idea well executed, great job ! Keep coding !

Fun game and a nice level design. It is very nice that even in a short time, you guys manage to build a nice curve and such level design for the game.

Lol, WHOA! Holy heck this game was a trip! GREAT effect with the wavy screen! It was SOOO hard when my character got more drunk lol.

The game was incredibly fun and the feeling of playing drunk is so spot on!

Very nice game! The platforming sensarion is great! Your animation is also really good. That is not the case for the "drunk" shader however, it made me really dizzy 😵

This game was really nicely done! Always love some crazy post processing! I loved that it became worse the longer you played, very nicely implemented ^^ Only feedback I'd give is make the levels a bit more mistake friendly as in the last level you cant make it if you fall (or give an easy restart option to handle that problem!)

Now I understand why I've never bothered to drink. x.x

The game has some fun moments, and the controllers feel natural. I think adding the ability to restart the level will bring a lot of fun to the gameplay loop.

Really loved how you accomplished the feeling of being drunk in the game. Was so trippy! And definitely accurate -- making every little task more and more difficult the more drinks we had. Took a short while to fully understand the timers and resetting and stuff, but enough repetition did the trick ^^

The music matches the game, the box animation and the pseudo 3d scenery are pretty cool. The level design is also good, but I think the stages should be shorter, time is very tight. And as for the theme, on the 30-second timer, it's like there are 3 10-second parts, but I don't know if I saw a theme fit in that. But visually it's a good job. It could be fun, but I felt frustrated in the gameplay.

What a fun entry. I really liked the graphics, audio and overall mood of the game. However the difficulty was a lot :joy: I would have benefited with some checkpoints haha. Keep on making games!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to your game! This game really does make you feel kinda drunk xD I thought the graphics were cute but a bit simple. The jumps are really hard, and I'm really bad at platformers, so of course I couldn't beat it but I watched others beat it so its FINE haha..right? xD
