Your goal is to defeat the Enemy creatures. At the beginning of your turn you can choose to Attack or use an Item. You can use an Item before you Attack. Your Turn will End after you Attack. So make sure to use any Items first.
After defeating a couple of opponents you will visit your Guide to gather new Items and Modifiers. You can hold several of each Item type. Modifier effects combine to increase stats.
Defeat the 7 enemies to sate your hunger, optionally continue on to endless mode where the difficulty gradually increases and see how long you can survive!

Amazing game, feels like everything has been paid attention to, the music the graphics the gameplay. It all feels super solid. And the game is fun too! Well done!
Sick game; easy to understand and pretty straightforward. I had great fun just deleting the enemies in just a few rounds.
One tiny thing I would say is that I feel like sting is the most useful move. It has the highest DPS (or per round I should say) so I'm incentivized to just keep spamming sting esp with the HP recover buff. Would be interesting to see if other attacks are a little bit stronger to suit different situations.
Very cool art style with lots of diverse enemies. I liked the progression system and the ability to create builds. However, I didn’t enjoy that in the fight where I lost, it didn’t really depend on me—the stun just didn’t work. Some UI decisions were also not very intuitive. After losing, I felt like I wanted to try again, but at the same time, I didn’t feel like starting over. In the end, I’ll remember the game and will return to it—I love this genre and quality pixel art.
Great game, insect art is spot on and the combat was great too. Just the right level of tactical/strategical. Made it to level 18 on my first attempt, and towards the end was barely surviving on vice hp steal. Great job!
It was a nice/quick entry to play through. Probably a little bit too much on the easy side (2 max hp ups and one potion was all I needed to win without feeling too pressured).
The game is amazing! I was especially impressed by the idea, and the visuals and atmosphere are top-notch. Keep making games, you're a true master at it!
Great game with adorable graphics and a fun, straightforward combat system! The progression kept me engaged, and experimenting with different builds was really satisfying. Overall, super enjoyable, gj!
Made it to lvl 14, then to 33! Everything worked great and felt well thought out. This is one of the best pixel art jam games I've played in a while! The only bugs I could see were the ones fighting on screen!
@bloodbane@zliebowitz thanks for commenting! if you found the first 7 enemies too easy, i'd recommend continuing on to the infinite mode. The difficulty gradually increases after the lizard enemy so it gets quite difficult. Our top score is level 50 at the moment!

The healing bonuses really help getting further, but damn thoses wasps hit hard 😄

Nice little game with pretty pixel art and animations. The gameplay was simple, yet engaging.
Here is my playtest:

It felt very polished, and I liked the variety of upgrades. The art works really well too.
I found the first 7 prey pretty easy, especially since you get the healing, but the endless mode was fun.
