Like the others said, this is a really good execution of a puzzle platformer. If you ever wanted to make a game for the NES or Gameboy, this could make a really good homebrew for one of those.

I do think I might have softlocked myself about 10 or so levels in, when one of the Taras fell into the deep pit on the right, unless I'm missing something. A reset-level button would be nice if that's a 'loss'.

@occamslaser Yeah that is a loss, pressing "R" resets the level. Unfortunately I thought I was clever by activating the "Press R to restart" text in level 2 or so only when you fall into the pit, but if you don't fall there, you may never know :(

@sbeif ah, I didn't lose there, and I didn't see it in the instructions, so I assumed it wasn't there. I should have tried it though!

Extremely cute game, I loved the idea of kicking to stun, level design was brilliant, I've seen games like this before but never with this degree of design. Amazing and reminds me of 4 swords. Great job!!

This is a game where I saw the cover, and just knew I was going to love this. It's very cute and has a couple of clever, pretty funny mechanics where you can kick yourself around and jump off of your head. I found Tara to be very fun. :smile:

Great game. The main idea is clever and very well implemented, and the difficulty curve is just right. The art and animations are very lovely, and the color scheme and music gives a very retro vibe to the whole game. Love it!

I used to adore these little creatures in this style of art.

The puzzles are quite engaging, particularly as you start incorporating more than just two little pink haired "critters".

I believe there's a lot of potential to expand this game and create countless puzzle scenarios using these mechanics of kicking and jumping.

Very clever puzzles. You've got some good ideas. I thought during a different game jam about something similar with creatures on top of each other but I didn't have the idea to stuck them and it brings a lot of puzzling. Nice job!

I wish you had more levels because I had a lot of fun. As already said the puzzles are clever. Really liked that I have to use the door as platform at the end. The first tutorial levels are well made its straightforward to understand the game. Even without adding new mechanics, just some more levels its a complete mini game that people could enjoy on Mobile if you have time.

this is so cool love the art style the concept and how well the level design is, I love puzzle game in general and I was really happy to find this game, the puzzle are well balance and you could totally push this to a full game I think, good job!

Hi @nadan Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you and your friend liked our game :) I think it took us about a couple of hours (after reading the theme and going to sleep since the jam started i think at 1am in our time zone) to come up with the core idea, then during the whole jam we refined it and added and removed details but most of the concept was there. The level design I think took almost a full day.

Personal favourite so far! I like how you make kicking to stun other not only an action of appeal but also a key solution in some puzzles, so brilliant!

Satisfying game! Good length where you showed the different ways the mechanic can stretch into clever puzzles. The controls were nice and simple, this was very easy to pick up! More environmental mechanics post-jam and this could go places :)

Cool game! Easy to control, and easy to grasp the concepts. The music and graphics were nice, and overall it was cute little game.

Great art, great game mechanics! Only thing I want to say is that I think there might be bug with the game, occasionally, when I jump near the edge of the map, I get teleported back around 2 levels. It only happened twice, not quite sure what caused it, but I thought I should let you know.

@tiberiusuciu Thanks for the feedback, I've seen that a couple of times but I couldn't figure out how to reproduce it, and the amount of levels back seems to be random, I think I've seen from 0 to 3. I'll definitely look into it for future development but couldn't fix it in time for the deadline

Love it!! Just my kind of game. Actually reminds me of our own game, Loop Frogs, primrily because you're controlling multiple characters and using them to traverse the level. So yeah, this is great. I don't have any criticism at all. Hope you expand on it and release a full version.

Kicking your clone feels like kicking the twin brother I never had, who got and achieved everything I ever dreamed of until we fell into this claustrophobic cave with buttons and 2 weird men. Now the life outside doesn't matter anymore I just kick him so that it can weigh down the buttons, then I reach the two men and the cycle repeats. Solid game!

After all the struggles I've had with my own game, I realize how polished yours is.
I'm particularly impressed by how soft (rounded) the characters and scenery pieces look while completely filling their square bounding boxes.
That's talent.
I've also encountered the "teleport 1 or 2 level back" 2 times, but that didn't discourage me and I finished the game.

Really good and polished puzzler! Nice consistent art style with neat characters and fitting music, and great use of just a few mechanics to make a bunch of puzzles that I enjoyed a lot. Didn't solve them immediately but also didn't get stuck on them for ages. :) Not a whole lot to criticise really… There weren't any bugs or rough edges IMO. I think you did amazing!
