When visited by an unusual doll with an even more unusual request, a local newsgirl can't help but to chase the story, and see where it leads. It doesn't take an earth shattering revelation to create a memorable moment, just a view and the right company. Perhaps you'll get to sit a while and listen.
And yes, there is an actual ending! If at first you don't succeed, try again, you can make it!
A love letter to times past, with a healthy dose of inspiration from classic flash games. Old Tech was an interesting theme, and we decided to explore what old tech feels like and means, and what it can still do, rather than a more literal interpretation. With all the AI doom and gloom, we hope the ending here gives you a moment of respite.

If you have a couple of spare minutes, feel free to check out our game about a bomb-crafting cat as well! 🐱💣
I felt like the outcome of a run was very random. Sometimes the flight organette just wouldn't give out any letters in the first 5 or so sections and the run was doomed from the start. I also failed once with max upgrades even when hitting all the letters in the flight organette and keeping the voltage regulator in the green for the whole duration. The flight organette just wouldn't give me any letters for such a long while that I crashed. 😅
Overall it was still a super nice and enjoyable entry. 😁
I had the same issue as juutis though, the organette wouldn't give out letters at all for a while.
♠The gameplay is very random. Games often try to regulate the randomness in a way that keeps it from being the deciding factor in how much progress is made, since pure randomness can be very frustrating. I recommend altering the letter spawn rate to guarantee atleast 1 letter every other strip or so.
♠The menu uses only the mouse, but the gameplay uses only the keyboard. This sets an awkward cycle of constantly having to reposition your right hand on every crash. I recommend adding keyboard controls to the menu.
♠Dialogue is a bit slow. I recommend printing it 2-3 letters at a time per frame instead of 1.
♠Lastly, I'd recommend having the controls written down somewhere more easily accessible.
The intro screen text scroll in was very slow... this is one of my pet peeves in narrative sections; a trick here is to allow one click to fully reveal the text, so if your reader has a reading pace faster than your scroll speed they can just finish the line on their own. Not a huge deal, just a QOL thing to consider for future games.
Overall cool little game! Nice work!
